Calculus 12 Teacher: Email: Textbook: Ms. K Reed kreed@vsb.bc.ca Calculus: A First Course This course is intended for those students who want an introduction to University Calculus. The course is designed for students who have completed or are currently enrolled in Principles of Mathematics 12 course. Over the next 10 months, we will explore topics fundamental to Calculus such as Limits, Derivatives, Extreme Values, Logarithmic Functions and Integrals. The intent of this course is to cover key topics for students to be ready for first year University Calculus and/or to write the UBC/SFU/UNBC/UVIC Calculus Challenge Exam in June. Expectations: Students are expected to have a gook attendance record and come to class prepared with notebooks, calculators, pens/pencils and textbooks. It is crucial that students complete all assigned homework in order to experience success in this course. Marks (Approximate): Tests: 65% Quizzes: 25% Assignments: 10% All three terms will be weighed equally.
