Turkish Shoe brands to exhibit a “Fairy Tale” in Moscow Turkish Leather Brands will participate at the Mosshoes trade fair in Russia, which is the most important market for Turkish leather goods and shoe exports, with a very special project prepared by Istanbul Aydın University shoe design students. A collection of 30 futuristic bridal top boot models will spice up wedding fashion! All eyes will be on the Turkish shoe brands at the “Mosshoes Exhibition for Footwear, Bags and Accessories 2013” to be held in Moscow, Russia, on which Turkey has set its sights for its leather goods and shoe exports... Turkish shoe brands will be attending the fair with a spectacular project in collaboration with Istanbul Aydın University students, thus publicizing their young designers and production capabilities on the world stage via Moscow. The Project is directed by “Turkish Leather Brands” (TLB), a group dedicated to strengthening the image of Turkish leather worldwide and promoting Turkish leather and shoe brands in both domestic and international markets. Mosshoes Moscow, an international platform that brings together the world’s shoe and accessory brands, will be held on 25-28 March 2013 in Russia, a country that has drawn admiration in recent years for its stable growth. The fair also host chain markets and procurement groups, and is recognized as one of the largest and most important gatherings in Eastern Europe and Russia. Accordingly, just like every year, Mosshoes will play a key role in the export targets of Turkish Shoe Brands in the region. AN UNUSUAL LOOK AT BOOTS For the “Fairy of Fantasia” project, prepared under the direction of Turkish Leather Brands Istanbul Aydın University exclusively for the Mosshoes trade fair, young designers prepared bridal top boots through a fantastic and innovative perspective. The starting point of the project was set to be “wedding”, which is a universal concept. Setting out from this social tradition for which all guests prepare meticulously and dress elegantly, and which is remembered for a lifetime, the prospective designers thus sought to underline how special and precious Turkish shoes are. As part of the project, top boots, which have made their mark on the world of fashion in recent years, were designed by the fashion designers of the future through a different perspective for “wedding” under 6 sub-concepts. The boots, produced by project manager professors and students with the contributions of Turkey’s leading shoe manufacturers, are also deemed the visual manifesto in global markets of the unique design skills of the Turkish shoe industry. The 30 boot models included in the fair were manufactured from leather and natural materials for summer and winter. In line with the bridal shoes fashion in recent years, naive and pastel shades were also used in addition to white in the models, which will be exhibited for 4 days by fashion models on the corridors and on mannequins at the Turkish Leather Brands trend ground. “WE SUPPORT THE SHOE DESIGNERS OF THE FUTURE” Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association and Turkish Leather Brands President Lemi Tolunay says that the project was exclusively prepared for Mosshoes and exhibited Turkey’s assertiveness in the shoe industry not only in production and exports but also in design. Noting that Russia was the largest importer of Turkey’s leather goods, Tolunay says: “Every year, we are exporting $400 million worth of leather goods and shoes from Turkey to Russia. Shoes accounts for a quarter of these exports. Thanks to this and other promotional projects, we aim to maintain the popularity of Turkish leather in Russia.” “The project at Mosshoes demonstrates the great strides made by the TLB while constituting a significant part of the support provided in Turkey to young designers. Striving to introduce new designs and designers into the industry, Turkish Leather Brands participates in this important fair, which gathers the world of leather and fashion, together with the prospective designers of the future, once again demonstrating its vision in the field,” Tolunay continued. The TLB President also added, “We will continue with the projects we have created with a view to boosting the innovative power of the Turkish leather industry, strengthening their will to create and sell their own unique designs, and encouraging the unique designs by talented young people,” says Tolunay. “In Turkey, we are setting the dynamics of the world of fashion and design not only of today but also tomorrow.” Detailed information on turkishleatherbrands.com Mosshoes Fair and TLB’s activities is available on Turkish Leather Brands (TLB) The Turkish Leather Brands is a Council founded in 2005 with the purpose of promoting Turkish Leather Brands in domestic and international markets, increasing the market and exports potential and implementing the projects to be prepared.
