Notes: Finish all “Your Health and Wellness” Notes (Health triangle/continuum)
Closure: Why do we need mental health? Why do we physical health? Why do we need social health?
Evidence of Learning: Students will be able to discuss in small groups the Health Continuum and how it changes from
moment to moment, day to day, etc…
Day 10: Tuesday 8/18/15

members.
Bell Ringer: What is your definition of “Mental/Emotional Health”?
Set: How does the health triangle relate to our values, goals, and responsibilities? Why is it a continuous process?

Essential Voc: Discuss/Review - Health Education and Wellness
Notes/Review: Review notes in groups
Activity: Health Triangle Booklet – Use magazines to cut out pictures related to the three aspects of the health triangle.
They will also write a paragraph on each aspect according to rubric.
Closure: Why is the health triangle so important to us?
Evidence of Learning: All students will know what the health triangle consists of by the end of class by participating in the
activity.
Day 11: Wednesday 8/19/15

members.
Bell Ringer: What is your definition of “Social Health”?
Set: I will discuss how your mental, social, and physical health affects your self-esteem, values and goals.

Closure: Relate the health triangle again to decisions we will be making this weekend.
Evidence of Learning: All students will be prepared to score at least 70% or greater on test from review.
