SUMMER RENDEZVOUS - SAVE THE DATE
The Summer Rendezvous will be held on July 15, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the Watkins
Glen State Park, Iroquois Lodge. The Summer Rendezvous is a wonderful way for members
and family alike to relax, play games, and enjoy some delicious food. Other features of the
evening include the Hat Affair Contest, lawn games with team competitions, and the 3rd
Annual Celebrity Sack Race! The fee to attend this event is $20.00 per person and includes

The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program is sponsored by the
Business & Education Committee and was offered to eligible high school seniors in
Bradford, Odessa-Montour, and Watkins Glen schools, and home schooled students in
Schuyler County. It offers a $1000 scholarship to a student who plans to attend an

FRIDAYS ON FRANKLIN - MONTH EVENT BEGINNING IN AUGUST
In August we will launch a downtown consumer event series called Friday on Franklin. On
the first Friday of each month from 5-8pm, downtown Watkins Glen will transform into a
mini-tasting trail of select businesses paired with craft-based beverage producers
(wine/beer/spirits) and food vendors. Event participants will purchase a wine glass at the
Visitor Center and receive a map of stops included in the event. They will then sample,
savor, and shop their way throughout Watkins Glen. If the event is successful in Watkins
Glen, we may expand it to Montour Falls next year. More information coming soon!

MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce will host it's 15th Annual Donald Brubaker
Memorial Golf Tournament on September 18, 2015 at the Watkins Glen Golf Course.
The Tournament gives local business people a chance to network, promote their business
and reconnect after a very busy season! The Brubaker family owns and operates the
Seneca Lodge; a tradition of great food, hospitality and racing history! The Tournament
honors Donald Brubaker. Donald was a former Chamber president and an amazing business
leader.

JUNE IS FIREWORKS SAFETY MONTH
Schuyler Hospital wants you to know that, according to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) about 7,000 people each year are treated in hospitals for a range of
injuries caused by fireworks. More than half of those injured are children. The body parts
suffering most injuries: hands, fingers, and eyes. Adding to personal injury, fireworks are
often the cause of home and vehicle fires. Please leave fireworks to the professionals, and
enjoy the show safely!

Summit to Stream Adventures is having a Summer Solstice Sunset Paddle on June 21st.
The guided tour will depart from the Village Marina in Watkins Glen. As a group, we'll take
in the beauty of Seneca Lake during the sunset on the longest day of the year.
