You may choose any of the activities to complete. The combined points for all the activities must equal 50 points. Be sure to: 1) write your name and date at the top of each page, 2) write the title for each activity, 3) spell ALL words correctly, 4) circle the number on this page for each activity you complete, and 5) submit your work with this page stapled on top of your activities. Options for the Unit: 1. Write (do not type) your words 3x each in cursive. (10 points) 2. Write a poem using at least 15 vocabulary words. (20 points) 3. Design a bookmark that has at least 10 vocabulary words on it. (10 points) 4. Create a crossword puzzle for at least 15 of your vocabulary words. You must also solve the crossword puzzle. (20 points) 5. That’s an order! Write all the words in alphabetical order. (5 points) 6. Puzzle Me! – Write each vocabulary word and definition on opposite sides of an index card. Cut the cards in half, using different patterns. Shuffle the pieces and then match each half. Place your pieces into a small Ziploc bag. When turning in, staple the bag to your other assignments. (10 points) 7. Define Me! – Write all vocabulary words with their definition and part of speech. (10 points) 8. Base This! – Write each vocabulary word, and the correct spelling of the base word next to it. (Hint: many of the base words have spelling changes – Ex. treacherous – root word treachery). (15 points) 9. Tongue Twisters – Using the beginning letter of each vocabulary word, write sameletter sentences. (Ex. Happy Harry hurried home.) (15 points) 10. Divide each word into syllables (Ex. Ex/pres/sion/less). (5 points) 11. Create a word search with all of your vocabulary words. You must also solve the word search. (10 points) 12. Colorful Words – Use two different colored pens (not black/blue) to write the vocabulary words. Use one color for consonants, and the other color for vowels. (5 points) Have Fun!
