Make-up Week
• Please bring your Engineering logbooks to
your LAB class. The instructors will collect
your logbooks and review them.
• Your Engineering Logbooks will be returned
to your mailfolder.

• Please use the time available from lab period to go
to the Erdle Commons or the Engineering Learning
Center, and practice solving problems, to help
prepare you for your examination this week.
• This is a review week. Students who have not
completed a lab during the preceding four weeks
may use this week to make up missed labs.

your Group members online during this time.
• You will be submitting a SURVEY related to the
first half of the Quarter online during this time.

•Projectile Motion Discussion
Solve problem 5.5.33
• Consider the schematic in Figure 4.1 and imagine
that the block was being lowered into a pool of fluid,
and is experiencing a friction force of Fliquid directed
vertically up.
• Draw a FBD for m2.
• Assume that the block is falling with some
acceleration az
• Apply Newton's Second Law in the z direction to
derive an equation for the block's acceleration.
