1 Your Notification of Results Results are provided for each module on which you were registered in the academic year 2010 / 2011. An “R” is added for all modules passed after reassessment, and a “C” added where the module is passed by compensation. SCC beside a mark denotes that Special Circumstances have been Considered by the module exam board in deciding the mark for that module. RNP beside a module indicates that the module exam board has decided that a Resit is Not Permitted in that module – you should contact your department immediately to discuss the consequences of this. The final result (as determined by the Programme Board of Examiners) is stated below the module results. If you have any result other than Progress, and are unsure of what to do then you should contact your academic department as soon as possible for clarification of what is required of you. * Results marked * above indicate that your programme of study has come to an end, and that you are not permitted to register for the next academic year. 2 Your rights You have the right to be reassessed in any module passed by compensation (except where the Exam Board has indicated that a resit is not permitted). Contact your department immediately if you wish to resit any compensated modules. Appeals: the right of appeal is restricted to “procedural” grounds – you may not appeal because you simply disagree with the decision of the Board of Examiners about the marks awarded. If you are contemplating an appeal you must first approach your department. This should be done as soon as possible, as any appeal must be lodged within fourteen days of receiving notification of your results. Further information is available on line via the Student Handbook – http://www2.hull.ac.uk/student/studenthandbook.aspx 3 Examinations: August – September 2011 All resit examinations from semesters 1 and 2 will be held during the period 22 August - 2 September 2011 (some Nursing exams may be at other times). Students who were permitted to withdraw from examinations and will be taking them as a first attempt will also be expected to register for these examinations. A standard administration fee is charged to all candidates being reassessed, this should be paid at https://epay.hull.ac.uk. No charge is made for candidates taking all exams as a first attempt. If you have failed coursework assignments, your department will supply details of the reassessment requirements. Correspondence regarding exam resits, including an examination registration form, will be sent shortly to those students involved to their home address as recorded on the University student records system. If you wish a different correspondence address to be used, it is your responsibility to ensure that the University has the correct information. You should change your details online via https://myadmin.hull.ac.uk/. Students whose home address is overseas may be entitled to take their resits in their home country – subject to agreement from their department. Please see the Code of Practice on Assessment Abroad. 4 Scholarships If you hold a Sir Brynmor Jones or Ferens scholarship and you are entering your final year in September 2011, you will be contacted separately by email by the end of July with information about your scholarship arrangements for the next academic year. Scholarships for those entering the second year of their programme of study will be automatically continued.
