Courses which are available for competition are posted for five (5) business days on June 15, November 1, and March 1 of each academic year.

Chang School
courses are delivered in classroom and/or distance (online and/or print-audio) teaching modes.
Qualifications, including special qualifications for courses taught in distance mode, are unique to each course and are described in course posters
which are released online on the first day of each posting period. It is each applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they review the qualifications
listed in the course poster and, for each course which they are applying to teach, submit a completed current application form and current resume as
well as all other documentation specifically requested in the course poster. Interviews may be held at the discretion of The Chang School. On offer
of a teaching contract, successful applicants for whom The Chang School has no transcripts on file will be required to furnish The Chang School with
official, original academic transcripts issued by their advanced degree granting institutions.
How to apply
This instructor application process is for Chang School posted courses only. In order for an application to be considered, all applicants, including
those who have a teaching history with The Chang School, must complete the following steps.
 Review the list of posted courses at www.ryerson.ca/ce/instructorjobs and identify the courses which they believe they are qualified to teach.
 Consult The Chang School online calendar (www.ryerson.ca/ce) for dates and times the course is offered.
 Complete all sections of the current application form, including signature and date. Successful applicants will be allocated teaching
assignments based on their availability as indicated in their application form.
 Applications are assessed in accordance with the following criteria (see CUPE3904 Unit 2 collective agreement):
 Education (your academic credentials and professional designations, as applicable)
 Experience (relevant teaching experience and relevant work and/or community experience in the professional field or discipline)
 Currency (evidence of having maintained up-to-date knowledge and recent achievements in the field)
 Teaching skills and ability to interact effectively with adult students and colleagues
 Staple all accompanying documents, including resume, to the completed current application form.

NOTE: Individuals applying to teach courses in The Chang School Business Program Area must submit their resume in the special format
required by the Ted Rogers School of Management. To obtain a copy of the resume template, go to The Chang School instructor website at
www.ryerson.ca/ce/instructorjobs.
 Hand-deliver their application in hardcopy to The Chang School, Heaslip House, 297 Victoria Street, Main Floor, during the postings period,
before the deadline date and time. (Because we cannot guarantee that faxed, emailed, mailed, or couriered applications will reach The Chang
School by the deadline, applications must be hand-delivered.) Applications received after this date and time or delayed beyond the deadline
by couriers, Canada Post, or misdirection in the University, will not be considered.

Successful candidates will be notified by July 29, 2011, and contracts will be mailed the week of August 8.
