West Georgia Health, in conjunction with Breast Friends for Life breast cancer support
group, hosts the Paint the Town Pink, a community-wide event celebrating survivorship
and breast cancer awareness. Free clinical breast exams and health screenings, will be
offered. The HOPE for a Day Walk, which begins at 8 a.m. in downtown LaGrange
raises money to help fund mammograms and other services related to breast

The Georgia Department of Education and the Career, Technical, and Agricultural

"listen to workforce" and begin seeking out strategies for education (K-12) to meet

Visual Artists Alliance of LaGrange Exhibition
VAAL: Visual Artists Alliance of LaGrange, featuring artist Sarah Swanson - On Friday,
August 28 from 7 to 9pm, the LaGrange Art Museum will celebrate the end of summer
with its fourth annual Celebrate Summer show featuring the works of the Visual Artist
Alliance of LaGrange. Also on display will be violins and cellos painted by local artists
for the LaGrange Symphony Guild’s Painted Strings Project. These 12 instruments will
be auctioned off at a later date to benefit the Symphony’s youth programs.

Mirror Mirror
In partnership with Hills & Dales and the Legacy Museum, this exhibit will link the
Museum as a community participant in the year-long celebration of the 100th
Anniversary of the Callaway family home. Featuring portraiture-mirroring-portraiture, this
unique exhibit will compare photographs with paintings, taking a look at portraiture
across centuries and cultures and will include some of Troup County’s best known
citizens as well as some of its unsung. The upper floor of the Museum will feature a
retrospective of Signe Gruschovenko’s contemporary twist on portraiture.
