Permutation
Aff is trying to prove that the most desirable option (solves all the advs and avoids all
the disads) in the debate still includes the plan
Neg is trying to prove the CP alone is net advantageous/desirable
Permutation is only complete if the AFF explains why the advantages of the plan
outweigh the disad
The first best answer for the NEG to ANY permutation is: the plan still links to our net
benefit/still causes our disad
What is in a LEGIT perm: ALL of the plan and ALL or PART of the CP
If the aff stops defending 100% of the plan – this is a “severance permutation”
If the aff ADDS stuff that is not in the plan or the CP this is an intrinsicness
permutation
