• Meet with their counselor to obtain the report.
• If at anytime in their high school career they
have earned an “F” in a core subject they are
responsible for making up that credit to meet
graduation requirements!

semester dual enrollment at Daytona State College (DSC).

• Time Line
• Applaud if your student has completed a college
application.
• Snap if your student plans to apply before the
Thanksgiving break.
• If your student plans to wait until February...practice
your nail biting now!
• You will kick yourself if your student waits until Spring
Break.
• May applicants – fix up your bedroom at home –
they’ll need to pay your parents rent!
QUICK NOTES
• Residency is determined by the parent/guardian
residency status.
• Complete a transcript request form and provide a mailing
address for private & out of state schools.
• Test scores must be sent directly to the college from SAT
or ACT.
• APPLY ONLINE - Colleges prefer online applications. You
can choose to submit a paper application if available, but
DO NOT DO BOTH.

CLEAN UP YOUR ACT!
Everyone Has Access to Social Media…
• Google your student
• Remove any questionable you-tube videos links.
• Clean up their online identity on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram.
• Use nicknames for social media – not email addresses!
• Their voicemail is a reflection of them. If an admission
counselor or potential employer calls, will they make a
good impression?
