The second part is a much more in-depth case study scenario; this is what will distinguish future cabinet members from other applicants. PID: Roles of Available CAA Cabinet Positions Campus Relations – Campus Relations will serve as both the New Media and the communications/PR department for CAA. This year we will have at least two co-chairs that will head these two different areas. Therefore, you must be able to collaborate together and with leaders of outside organizations to help increase CAA’s presence. This year, CAA is putting a strong emphasis increasing brand awareness. The two chairs are responsible for building content for the website and generating awareness of the website.You are responsible for communicating to the student body about athletics, CAA events, and individual stories via our Social Media accounts and website. This position entails working closely with other CAA committees and campus organizations such as Senior Class, CUAB, Graduate Students, and the Greek Community. The Campus Relations chair must be ready to accept this responsibility and work very hard to achieve this goal. Sports Marketing – Responsible for overseeing Late Night with Roy and Baseball Beach Bash as well as the events that are held each season for all of the Olympic sports. Must have a close relationship with Athletic Department. Needs to be creative and organized. The Sports Marketing Chair will be expected to work closely with the Campus Relations Chair on publicizing events and the overall organization to build campus presence. Special Projects – Must be organized and personable. Host and plan major projects including, but not limited to the Beat Duke Week and blood drives. Responsible for creating and promoting new philanthropic activities as well as partnering with ongoing organizations that are service oriented, such as the Campus Y and Dance Marathon. Involvement or relationships with outside, service organizations is encouraged. Ticketing – This person should be well organized and willing to take a lot of heat. Responsible for randomization, Stand-by lines, Turn-It-Back Lines, etc. The Ticketing Chair will need to develop a strong relationship with the UNC Ticket Office. Must be assertive and be available to work every home basketball game. Graduate Student- The Graduate Student Liaison has the responsibility of representing the voice of the graduate and professional students, and serve as the primary contact for graduate student concerns. This position also has the responsibility of completing events delegated by the CAA president. These events include, but are not limited to, conducting surveys to learn more about the graduate population, connecting with the GPSF, advising other committees on reaching the population, designing graduate specific content. Campus Relations-New Media Build a website for Late Night With Roy. Include in this website at least an “about CAA” tab, a graphic, necessary details for the event (make up a start time, when doors open, giveaways, etc.), promotional campaigns, and anything else you feel would be needed. Please provide the link to the website. Use a free domain! We are looking more at content rather than the quality of the domain. Campus Relations-Communications/PR One of the primary goals of CAA for the 2015-2016 school year is increasing brand awareness. Hypothetically, assume that 30% of campus knows what CAA does and what we do. Develop a PR plan to increase brand awareness of CAA to 75%. Be as specific as possible. (Don’t worry about specific numbers or measuring, we are simply evaluating the plan) Sports Marketing You have a $250 budget to promote the Men’s Lacrosse event. The goal is to increase attendance at the game while also building a positive relationship with students and the Athletic Department. How will you spend that money and how will you implement your plan? What could go wrong and how will you prepare or prevent that? What will be the biggest challenges and strengths of this project? Special Projects How will you plan Beat Duke Week (i.e. events, publicity, t-shirt sales, etc.)? Be as specific as possible (maybe include an exact itinerary for the week).
