Space correlates with the third grade Massachusetts state science standards. It is also the topic of my third grade team’s project based learning assignment. Our principal requires each grade level to collaborate and create a project, which culminates in a presentation of some kind. My team chose to focus on our science unit, space. We plan to have each student choose a planet to study. The students will conduct research on their selected planet. This list will be used as tool to assist my students in their research project. I will post the list of websites on my class website, www.mrsfindley.wikispaces.com, as well as have the list in our class folder, for easy access both at home and at school. I will give students adequate time in school to complete their research; however, I will also encourage students to be working on their research at home. Their research will later be used to create a project, most likely a Power Point presentation. All the websites were discovered using the search engine, www.askkids.com.
