Get involved in the lives of the kids in your community, show you are interested in their daily activities.
Know your own child’s friends. Meet with them and possibly their parents. Friends who do not want to meet you have something to hide.
Have your child active during and after school, whether it be a school function or a community based facility or event.
Be a good role model and mentor. Kids learn and follow based on their environment.
Set limits and restrictions in regards to phones, curfew and the internet.
REMEMBER!...You are the adult! You’re not alone. Seek help and resources, there are many services out there to assist.
