Assessments:
Tests will be announced at least one week in advance. Quizzes may or may not be announced ahead of time.
Homework:
Homework will be assigned almost every night.
I will check homework the day after it is assigned.
Homework will be posted on the homework board as it is assigned. This should be copied into your planner before you
leave class.
Remind:
I use Remind to help you remember homework and other important assignments.
Text @math3hnrs to 81010 to sign up. Parents may sign up, too.
Grades:
Homework- 25%
Class Participation (in-class assignments)- 15%
Tests/Quizzes- 60%
Final Exam:
Your final exam is an NC Final Exam. This will count as 20% of your course grade.
Makeup Work:
Classwork and HomeworkAssignments will be posted daily in the binder by the door. If you miss a class it is your responsibility to check the binder
and pick up missed assignments. Classwork will not be accepted after the test for the material has been taken.
I DO NOT accept late homework. If you do not have a homework assignment, and you were not absent when it was
assigned, then you will receive a zero for the assignment.
Quizzes and TestsIf you are absent on the day of a quiz or test you must schedule a time to make it up. Tests and quizzes may not be
made up during class time. You must schedule time during lunch or after school. The makeup must occur within one (1)
week of the quiz/test. Example: If you missed Friday’s test, you must schedule a time during lunch or after school
before next Friday to make it up.
Tutoring:
I will stay after school for tutoring by request, meaning if there is a consensus that students would like to be tutored on
Wednesday in a given week then I will stay Wednesday. This day will never be Monday. This method of scheduling
tutoring is due to my ever changing and busy after school schedule.

 You must come to class on time, prepared, and with a positive attitude each day.

Respect not only your teacher, but your fellow classmates as well.

RHS Calculator Policy
A graphing calculator is essential for ALL math students at RHS. The math department is
recommending the TI-84+ graphing calculator. This calculator will be appropriate for ALL
math classes at RHS. However, if you already own a TI-83, it is not necessary to purchase a TI84+.
Most class and homework assignments will require using this graphing calculator. We
believe your student’s success in his/her math class is dependent on the use of this calculator.
Please consider making this investment for your student.
Students are expected to have this calculator in class by Mon. August 31st. If you are
unable to purchase a calculator, please return a signed calculator contract requesting that a
school calculator be assigned to your student for in-class use.
Also, we would greatly appreciate students bringing in the reward points from newly
purchased calculators. RHS can use them to earn additional calculators for the school.
RHS Calculator Contract
To be signed in returned for any student requesting to be assigned a school calculator for in-class use
I understand that a graphing calculator is essential for all math classes at RHS. At this time I am unable
to purchase a calculator and I am requesting to be assigned a school calculator for in-class use. I
understand that school owned calculators are for use during class only and are not permitted to be taken
home. I agree to be responsible for the school’s calculator during class and not to destroy, deface, or
take any part of the calculator.
