It's getting to be Spring Scholarship Season! Student Services will be receiving
scholarship information through March, so stop by to see what's new. Currently, Juniors
can apply for the Coolidge Scholars Program, a full-ride to the college of your choice. For
Seniors, the Cary Rotary Club Scholarship is now available. This is a $1000 award,
renewable for four years. Applications are printed and ready in Student Services.
The PTSA Scholarship application is now available in Student Services. Two awards will
be given this year: $1000 for a 4-year college, and $500 for a 2-year technical or vocational
school. Scholarship deadline is Monday, April 4.
Here's another money opportunity for Seniors! The Cary Central Rotary Club is offering
scholarships for 4-year and 2-year college students. The awards are renewable, at $1500
and $1000 per year. Look for the Harvey Duke and Boyce Brown applications in Student
Services. Deadline is March 11.
Attention Juniors: Please sign up for a meeting with your counselor to discuss your
graduation requirements, course selections, and future plans. Please go to the Student
Services webpage to sign up for an appointment. You are responsible for remembering
your appointment date/time. Please stop by Student Services ahead of time if you need an
appointment reminder slip.
ANY STUDENT INTERESTED IN REGISTERING TO VOTE, SEE COACH PARR IN
ROOM 410.
Attention SENIORS! Applications are now available in Student Services for the State
Employees' Credit Union "People Helping People" Scholarship. This $10,000 scholarship
will be awarded to one Cary High School student planning to attend a UNC-system
university immediately after graduation. Application deadline is Wednesday, March 9th.
Please see Ms. Strader if you need additional information.
Attention all students who have taken Apparel II: Please see Mrs. Allen in 2106 if you want
to sign-up for Advanced Studies next year. You get to pick what you would like to study
for the semester! Come by and get a form from Mrs. Allen to take this exciting class!
Ladies, don't forget Stunt tryouts are today and tomorrow from 3:45-5:30. If you love to
stunt, tumble, or jump this is the perfect sport for you! Please make sure you are registered
on goimps.com and have your ticket to play.
Attention talented CHS students: Would you like to participate in this year's Spring
Assembly or Cary's Got Talent show? Auditions will take place starting at 2:45 on
Tuesday, March 15 in the auditorium. The sign-up sheet will be located outside of the
discipline office in the 10 building first thing tomorrow morning. See Mrs. Atkinson, Mrs.
Anderson or Mr. May if you have any questions.
Attention all JROTC cadets, there will be a meeting for all cadets on Wednesday during
Smartlunch A in the Auxiliary Gym to discuss assignments for the drill meet this
weekend.
Anyone interested in helping with Unified Track please come by Mrs. Bass' room 2103 to
pick up a form. Our first practice will be Tuesday March 8 after school.
On Saturday the Cary NJROTC will host a Drill and Athletic Meet with more than 300
cadets from across North Carolina competing. The drill competition will take place in the
entire Senior Parking Lot. All teacher and student cars MUST be removed from the
parking lot Friday evening. The entire parking lot must be empty by 5:30 Saturday
morning. Any vehicles in the parking lot at 5:30 Saturday morning will have to be towed.

19th, please see Mrs. Whitley in Room 2134, as soon as possible.
Congratulations to the CHS Concert Chorus for earning a Superior Rating in Grade 6
Music and Sightreading at the 2016 North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication at
Meredith College!
Attention Seniors: The deadline for submitting the application for the State Employees'
Credit Union "People Helping People" Scholarship is this Wednesday, March 9th, at 3pm.
Late applications will not be accepted.
Attention Seniors! Applications are now available for the Kassel A. Smit "Make a
Difference" Scholarship. This scholarship will award $2,500 to two CHS students planning
to attend a two or four-year college. Please pick up an application in Student Services.
Application deadline is April 29th.
There will be an informational meeting Thursday, March 24th at 2:30 in the 2000 building
lobby for the all new and exciting Zumba Club. See Xena (Zena) Gorham (Gore-um) or
Sanjeev (Sand-geevah) Kahlon (Collin) for more information.
Registration update: Please make sure you have claimed your cloud so you can complete
registration. If you have missed your registration session, you may get permission from
your 4th period teacher to visit Student Services for help. Again this is if you have missed
your registration session with your 2nd period class, ask permission to go to student services
during 4th period. FYI –due to PowerSchool maintenance- you may not have access to
registration this weekend. For questions about course registration, please see any
counselor.
If you are interested in Teacher Cadet, Heath Science II, PEPI, Early Childhood,
Yearbook, or the Culinary Academy, you need to turn in an application to the teacher
sponsoring the program. These teachers will provide an approved list by March
18th. Applications are available from the teacher, in the counseling office, or can
downloaded from the counseling webpage.
AP Exam Ordering is also in motion. We are collecting your information to place an order
for AP Exams through Total Registration. The window to register will close Midnight
3/16. Registering for exams after this date may result in a fee. The link to register for an
AP exam is available on the Counseling Webpage or linked from the Cary Main Page. As a
reminder, AP exams this year are free to those students who were or are enrolled in the
affiliated course in the 15-16 school year. If you are going to pay to take an exam or have
questions about exams, please see Mr. Johnson in the Counseling Office or email to
rjohnson4.
