Homework Menu 1st 9 weeks







Homework is due every TUESDAY at the beginning of the class period.
Late homework is not accepted.
Early homework is accepted and will be given bonus points.
If you are absent on Tuesday, your homework is due the day you return.
In addition to the actual assignment your paper should have your name, the assignment
number, the date and class period in the top right hand corner. Without these items you will
not receive full credit for your work.
There are 12 assignments listed below. You may only do each homework choice one time per
nine weeks.
Each homework assignment is worth 100 points.
1. Make a list of 10 facts about the FFA. Using that list, write to persuade someone to join.
2. Scavenger hunt: Collect 5 pictures that are related to the current unit of study. Glue or
print them on a piece of paper. Title it, and give a 5 sentence description of your
collection.
3. Make a crossword puzzle using the vocabulary and/or concept from the current topic of
study. The puzzle should contain at least 15 words. Clues should be written in complete
sentences. An answer key must be included to get full credit. (puzzlemaker.com is one free
site that can be used for this choice.)
4. Research a piece of equipment that would be used in a vet’s office. Describe its history
and use. Write a scenario in which that piece of equipment would be used. Must include a
picture of the equipment (hand drawn or printed) to receive full credit.
5. Choose a breed of exotic animal to create a fun fact sheet about. Should include at least 10
facts.
6. Watch an animal show on television/internet. Write down the show title, time and date
shown. As you watch the show, write 15 interesting, complete sentence facts that you
learn.
7. Visit quizlet.com or flashcardmachine.com to create a set of 10 flashcards of the current
units’ terminology. Turn in which website you used and the exact title of your flashcard
set so that I can access it to give you a grade. (Optional: Print flash card set.)
8. Choose an animal to create a taxonomy and nomenclature chart for. Be sure to include
from Kingdom to Species.
9. Create a 4 pictures 1 word puzzle that relates to Veterinary Medicine. Put the answer to
the puzzle on the back.
10. Visit the Cat Fancier Association website (http://www.cfainc.org) to read about a breed of
cat. Write a description of the breed and its characteristics.
11. Find a current event that relates to the animal industry and write a summary of the article.
Be sure to include the article.
12. Get a copy of the “Animal Cell Coloring HW” page to complete and turn in.
