Vocabulary Homework Assignment – Utilizing Context Clues

1. Read the sentences under "new words". Each of the vocabulary terms is bold.
2. Write each bold word from the sentences in the "word" column.
3. Using the information in the sentences (the context), guess what each word means. Write the guess in the
"my guess" column for each word.
4. Look each word up in the dictionary. If your guess was correct/close, put a check mark in the "dictionary
definition" column to show that you got it on your own. If your guess is incorrect/not close, write the dictionary
definition in the "dictionary definition" column.
