Email Safety • Santa is new to using his email. • Give him a list of tips and advice for staying safe on his email. • Explain why each tip is important to do. • EMAIL SAFETY TIPS AND ADVICE • Do not use the same password for everything as if someone finds you one password out they can access everything else you go on and you might not even find out! • Be careful about the photos or videos you post or send to people as it could go to people that you don’t know. • When making a password make sure you remember it and that it has numbers and letters such as: M54gae9up2. Otherwise people can guess you password easily. • Delete emails that are spam, for example telling you that you’ve won the lottery, this can give people your details if you reply. • Do not share your details with anyone you do not know, this is because they could get your bank details or find where you live • Santa is new to using his email. There should be at least 5 tips with explanations. •Change your password regularly and keep it in a safe place. •Don’t share your password with anyone. •Don’t open attachments from anyone you don’t know. •Log out or sign off from your account when you’ve finished looking at/sending your email. Don’t reply to spam or forward chain emails. Full Email • He is concerned about the number of emails he has received and he is running out of space. • Explain what archiving is and how to do it. • When you get a spam email you delete it as it is something you either don’t want or somebody pretending you have won the lottery. If you receive unnecessary emails then they are not needed because it might be just a hello or thank you so you do not need to read it straight away but you don’t have to delete it. • You can archive emails by taking them off your email which is called exporting and then saving on your computer for example using a usb or external hard drive. if you archive it properly it stores it into a email no word document. This means you can put the email back in it’s original place when you get space or if you need to use that email or forward it. It is important to do these things as it saves space on your email to save more emails, and time, helps to store, emails, and saves you from getting viruses or being hacked.
