Implementing Guidelines for the Sarangani
DIC- 2013 Skills Exhibition
SARANGANI DIVISION TECHNOLYMPICS
I. Participants
1. The 2013 Division Technolympics will showcase marketable products and performances in the different
skills acquired by the students in the various specializations of Technology and Livelihood Education
(TLE) and Technical Vocational Education (TVE). This is open to all high school students enrolled in
both public and private high schools all over Sarangani Division.
2. Official Delegation
The members of the School delegation to the 2013 Division Technolympics are as follows:

This number of official delegates may vary depending on the capacity of the school to finance a
certain number of official delegates. Although oftentimes there are financial constraints encountered,
school heads are encouraged to maximize resources to expose students thereby increasing their
individual level of confidence and competitiveness.
II. Management
1. The 2013 Division Technolympics will be managed by a Division Technical Working Group (DTWG)
composed of officials from the Division Office.

Event Guidelines
1. Selection and Elimination of participants
1.1 Division Levels
1.1.1 The School Head/Vocational Head shall independently conduct in-school competitions or
selections in any form as may be applicable in their level. The winners or assigned
contestants of the school shall be sent to the Sarangani Division Technolympics 2013.
1.1.2 The Top 3 Division Record Holders shall be declared in each of the following areas:

Mechanics:

The 2013 Division Technolympics shall be participated in by
bonafide students enrolled in public (General or TechVoc) or
private high schools during the school year 2013–2014;
The school principal shall certify that the students are enrolled in
the field of
specialization where they are participating;
TLE teachers must submit the following documents:
 Certification from the principal that the teacher is currently employed whether local
or national; and
 Certification from the principal regarding the teacher’s designation as the adviser of
the student-participant.
2.2 Skills Exhibition
2.2.1 Participant may only join in one event.
2.2.2 There shall be eight individual and five team (of two members) events.

All participating schools are allowed to display their best products and performances
before the opening program. They are also allowed to unify displays per district or
municipality whichever is easier and comfortable.
All items in the exhibit area must be offered for sale.
All products/performances offered/displayed in the Bazaar are produced/rendered by the
TLE or TVE students as certified by the school head. OTOP are also allowed.
The Bazaar is also a competition where aesthetic appeal and income are both given due
points.
All schools or group of schools shall either bring their own tent or arrange the
management, in advance, for tent renting.
2.4 Mechanics of Judging – Skills Exhibition

The products and performances of participants in all events shall be judged by three
members of the Board of Judges composed of experts, practitioners, service providers or
professionals.
Judges will use the prepared score sheets for both products and performances. Points
given to each of the participants shall be added by each member of the Jury.
The total scores of each participant shall be ranked with the highest total number of
points as rank 1.

The contest administrator and facilitator shall review the computation and ranking made
by the judges. The participant with the highest total number of points shall be declared
the Division Record Holder.
The final results shall be reviewed by the members of the Board of Judges before
affixing their signatures in the summary sheet.
In case of a tie, triple tie or a quadruple tie, the participant who finished first will be
declared as the “champion”.
The decision of the Board of judges is final, unquestionable, and irrevocable.
2.5 Mechanics for Judging the Bazaar Exhibits (Most Enterprising
Award)

based on certain criteria set by the division Committee.

3.2 Event Procedure

4. Prizes and Awards
4.1 The record holders and the trainers shall be awarded Certificates of Recognition and Participation.
4.2 Medals and a Certificate of Merit will be awarded to the top three record holders.
4.3 For purposes of determining the top five over-all division record holders, the rank system shall be
followed. Each over-all winner shall receive certificate of recognition.

venue sixty (60) minutes ahead of the event schedule.
b. Event materials, supplies, tools, equipment and other things needed for the venue will be made
ready by the Event Administrator sixty (60) minutes before the event schedule.
c. All participants should be at the designated venue thirty (30) minutes before the event starts. Late
participants without valid reasons shall be disqualified.
d. The participants will draw lots to determine their respective places and set up their food and
materials on their assigned places. Setting up of their extension chords, equipment, and tools
should be done during this time.
e. Briefing of participants will be done fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled event.
f. The Event Secretary will give the signal for the event to begin. Once the event has been started, the
coaches, teachers, delegates are no longer allowed to talk to the participants to give them full
concentration in their work.
g. Only the Event Administrator, Secretary, technical, judges, official photographer and participants are
allowed in the venue.
h. No questions shall be entertained during the contest proper except clarifications and points of order.
All clarifications and points of order will be directed to the Event Administrator.
i. Should there be any irregularities found during the event, the Event Administrator, in consultation
with the Board of Judges, may suspend the conduct of the specific skill exhibition if justified and
refer the matter to the attention of the Technical and evaluation Committee for appropriate action.
j. Borrowing of materials, tools, supplies during the event is not allowed.
k. The working area should be cleaned immediately after every event.

m. The finished landscape shall be ready ready for photography, sketching, after all the members of
the board of judges shall have finished their individual judging.
n. A blue print or a sketch or plan must be submitted by the participants.
o. The landscape shall remain untouched until the closing ceremony.

a. The Event Administrators and their secretaries, technical committe and judges, should be in the
venue sixty (60) minutes ahead of the event schedule.
b. Event materials, supplies, tools, equipment and other things needed for the venue will be made
ready by the Event Administrator sixty (60) minutes before the event schedule.
c. All participants should be at the designated venue thirty (30) minutes before the event starts. Late
participants without valid reasons shall be disqualified.
d. The participants will draw lots to determine their respective places and set up their food and
materials on their assigned places. Setting up of their extension chords, equipment, and tools should
be done during this time.
e. Briefing of participants will be done fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled event.
f. The Event Secretary will give the signal for the event to begin. Once the event has been started, the
coaches, teachers, delegates are no longer allowed to talk to the participants to give them full
concentration in their work.
