He came to Money, Mississippi to visit relatives. On August 28, 1955 Emmett Till was brutally murdered for “whistling” at a white woman. Despite overwhelming evidence, his killers were set free after a short trial. When his murderers were found not guilty by an all-white jury, she tried to appeal the case. Once found innocent, the murderers sold the story of how they did it to Look Magazine.
