INTRODUCTION TO PRE-ENGINEERING DESIGN (IED) – Year 1
– Co-requisites: Algebra I, a lab fee will be charged
– This course uses a design development process while enriching
problem-solving skills; students create and analyze models using
specialized computer software.

the students’ core curriculum.
Combination of traditional math and science courses with innovative
Pathway to Pre-Engineering courses prepares students for college major
in engineering fields.
Offers the the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.
Courses engage students through a combination of activities-based,
project-based, and problem-based learning.

P.E. Waiver
• A way to complete one’s Physical Education
requirement.

Credit Flexibility
• Credit Flexibility allows students to earn credit by
demonstrating academic and skill level performance
through a variety of educational options.
• Approved credit awarded through these guidelines will
be posted on a student’s transcript and counted as
required graduation credit in the related subject area or
as an elective.
• A student must complete the Credit Flexibility
Application and obtain approval PRIOR to beginning
the coursework.

Athletic Eligibility
• Must pass 5 classes (not including P.E.) the
quarter preceding the season
• If a student earns less than 2.0 GPA during the
quarter preceding the season of participation,
student will be put on an Academic contract

• Students must apply and be accepted by the PostSecondary Institution
• Both student and parent MUST attend Mandatory
Meeting on February 11th & 12th at 6:00 P.M. in
Auditorium

• At this time, indicate other courses as if you will be at
SHS all day

Click on Grades in the upper right corner
Enter you username and password to log into
your PowerSchool account
• Click class registration
• Click in the check box to select your classes.
Don’t forget to click OK after each class.
• Click submit after all classes have been selected
• You will be given your PowerSchool Login
information in your second period class.
• If you do not see the class you would like, it
could be because the teacher did not
recommend you for the class or you did not
complete the prerequisites
• If this is not the case, see your guidance
counselor for help.
• Remember March 7, 2015 is the last day to
register.
Things to remember
when selecting courses:
• You may choose 1 release period
(1st or 8th, NOT both)
• It can be very hard to change electives after the
schedule is created.
• Classes can only be dropped during the first 3 days
of the semester
• A parent note is needed to drop/change courses
• After the 3 days, level changes must be initiated by
the teacher
• You must have a plan for making up failed courses.
