Kindergarten teachers thought it was also a good tool to teach children to use crosswalk. All felt it excellent to see so many parents walking with their children and for Langlade to be so visible in our neighborhood. All appreciated having a police officer at the crosswalk and another patrolling in the neighborhood. Extra eraser incentives leftover. Idea shared to use for Party Gras incentives for positive behavior in place of purple tickets that were used last year. Because of this year’s success, we will plan to run the Langlade Mile again next year. Treasurer Report: Financial Report – Fall fundraiser raised $6559.14. Small expenses paid for Back to School BBQ. Special Request paid for chalk for playground. Walk to School expenses were a little over $100. It is a lengthy process, but it is a necessary step to protect all of our children. Teacher Report: Teachers need pencil sharpeners replaced. Jeanne Stilp will check with all teachers to see who is in need. Old Business Holiday Giving Tree – Amanda Johnson shared that last year’s three trees, each assigned by grade, donated specific items to Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary, Howe Resource Center, and SOFT program. (Happily Ever After is a no kill shelter. SOFT program works with school-aged families, who are homeless. Howe Community Resource Center is a resource center for Howe Elementary area families.) Amanda shared the idea to begin a Langlade Caring Closet to benefit our own students and families in need. Discussion followed with much support. Karla Maitland made motion for this year’s giving trees to support: Langlade Caring Closet, SOFT Program and Happily Ever After Animal Shelter. Nicole Wafle seconded motion. Amanda Johnson will coordinate with Mr. Brinkman. Terracycle – We currently have recycling brigades for flexible cheese wrappers, ink cartridges, Elmer’s glue and scotch tape.
