STUDY GUIDE for MIDTERM EXAM Honors Italian 2 Date of Midterm Exam: Tuesday - January 21 10:30-12:30 ORAL MIDTERM EXAM: Monday January 13 in the Language Lab. In this Oral section of the exam you will be asked questions related to the project Vivere in Italia, and about the content of the three compositions you wrote and presented during the term. Read the corrected final draft, become familiar with what you wrote and prepare yourself to answer questions about your character and what he did and what he saw living in Italy. P. 152-53 -Name of stores p. 154 -Passato prossimo with ESSERE p. 160-61 including verb meaning inside the boxes p. 161 -Direct Object pronouns with present and with passato prossimo -Uses of Eccolo/eccola/eccoli/eccole -Use of direct pronouns when using two verbs ( ex: “ devo comprare la pasta ?” Devo comprarla or la devo comprare, p. 162 – last comma) -Partitives, p. 164-65 -Verb BERE p. 165 -Vocabulary on “La tavola”, p. 168-69. Be prepared to use terminology used in dialogues at the restaurant. p/ 170 and lang lab dialogue written on this topic. -Identify the different section of an Italian Menu ( p. 184) -Indirect pronouns, p. 176-77, including the forms of the verb piacere in the present and in the passato prossimo with the indirect object pronouns ( review piacere in Sentieri p.65). -Adverbs, p. 178-79 -La routine del mattino. Recognize hairstyle for man and woman -Idiomatic expressions with body parts: “Costumi e usanze”, p. 197. -Reflexives verbs, in the present tense and in the passato prossimo, p. 198 -Reciprocal verbs in the passato prossimo: p. 200-201. -Recognize how to use verbs with “CI” and “Ne” ( study the expressions learned in the handout written by me in the PPP). If you need to review them in the book go to page 202-203. -Vocab. of Unit 6B “Dal Dottore”, p. 206-207 ( turn the page) One new grammar structure will be introduced upon classes resume. This is in the page 214-215. Feel free to read the pages if you like to know ahead of time how this new tense is used in the Italian language. I will explain it and we will practice it together.
