8th Grade Parent Night 1/28/10 Welcome and Introductions Jeff Gustason, Principal Kim Buelt, Associate Principal Tonight’s Purpose To provide information related to course selection for next year. Why so early? Course selection determines # of sections of each course. # sections determine # of staff needed. Our goal…to have the BEST TEACHERS! Tonight’s Plan Overview of course selection process Overview of Registration Booklet Introduce online registration High School Philosophy L-MHS is a comprehensive high school. Students are encouraged to take a wide variety of course work, get involved in athletics, fine arts, and clubs/organizations. The high school task is to provide a wellrounded set of tools for each student…not to produce “specialists”. The changing workplace, the changing economy, the need for lifelong learning require this approach.
