Co-Curricular Modules: Modules are structured learning experiences that take place outside of the classroom and help students
advance toward achievement of the competencies. Students must pass a minimum of four modules contributing to at least two discrete
competencies. For every 15 hours transferred into TLU from an institution of higher education (excluding AP, IB and Dual Credit
courses), one less module would be required for graduation.
Additional Information Related to Degree Plan:
(1) FREX134
requirement is waived for transfer students with 24 or more hours, no more than 12 of which may have been earned through dual
participation.
(2 )Additional
requirements include 1 Written Communication (W) (upper division), 1 Ethical Reasoning course (E), 1 Civic Engagement (V) course, 1
Oral Communication (O) course, 1 Creative Thinking (C) course, 1 Advanced Quantitative Reasoning (Q) course, 1 International and Global
Knowledge course (G) and a senior capstone course. All these requirements are covered in the business administration degree plans.
(3) Humanities
requires 6 hours from HUMA 130, English, Geography, History, Mexican American Studies, Philosophy or Women’s Studies with a
maximum of 3 hours in any one discipline. One course must meet the Inquiry & Analysis (I) competency.

Social Sciences requires 6 hours from SSCI 130, Economics, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Psychology or Sociology with a maximum of 3
hours in any one discipline. One course must meet the Problem Solving (P) competency.

Natural Sciences/Math requires 6 hours from NSCI 140, Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Math or Statistics with at least 1 of
the courses including a lab. One course must meet Scientific Literacy (S) competency. No more than 3 hours in any one discipline may count in the
distribution.

Arts requires 6 hours from ARTS 130, Visual Art, Dramatic Media or Music. One course must meet the Aesthetic/Expression (A) competency.

Professional Applications requires 3 hours from Business, Communications, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Information Systems, or
Kinesiology.

The Cultural Perspectives and Religion requires 3 hours from Classical Studies, French, Greek, Hebrew, Spanish, other foreign languages offered
through our language consortium or Theology.
