Big Dave – North East UK
Awesome Linedancing
My Dance of the Month
Dirty Bit (Shaz Walton)
Important Note : The scores below are my own assessment – They take into account class feedback/reaction – But
ultimately they are my own view – To see the class scores check out my Dances Taught pages & see a rating out of 5
from the dancers themselves – We agree most times – But not always !!
Fahrenheit (Peter & Alison)
Joe McElderry (Fahrenheit)
64/2 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
For the Joe fans – A nice pop track – And an even better dance – Lots of neat moves – Cool rolling
turns with ball/crosses – Nice out/out/in/in move travelling backwards into a turn/chase turn
sequence - Another hit teach with the Intermediate class – Don’t forget to floor-split as Robert’s
dance is going just as well 
Hollywood (Craig Bennett)
Michael Buble (Hollywood)
64/2 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
For the Bule fans – A catchy dance track for sure & a nice easy dance to enjoy it too – Neat
cross/point kick & point sequence & a cool sailor/stomp/sway too – Hit teach for Craig at our
Morecambe event & at class too – Great cha cha pop track 
Up Jumped The Boogie (Gaye Teather & Andrew/Sheila)
The Tractors (Up Jumped The Boogie)
48/2 Easy Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 8
The Tractor fans will love this one – I remember running to the floor for Poor Boy Shuffle !!  Classic Tractors & classic & fun traditional style dance – Hit teach for Andrew at our Morecambe
event & class enjoyed it too – A ‘smiley’ dance for sure 
No Goodbyes (Robbie M. Hickie)
Maroon 5 & Lady Antebellum (No Goodbyes)
64/2 Intermediate
Music 10 Dance 9
Maroon 5 one of the bands of the moment – This one with Lady Antebellum makes it a lovely
smooth cha for all the country fans – Flows really well to the track – A big hit teach for me in
Sweden especially – Traditional steps that work real well to a cool smooth track – Another dance
clearly on the up big time on my early year travels.
Not The One (Neville & Julie)
Stan Walker (The One)
32/2 Intermediate/Advanced
Music 8 Dance 8
Nice funky smooth Night Club track, just a shame it takes 3 walls to get the beat going, but when it
does cracking stuff – Classic ‘Neville/Julie’ night club steps but I’d just say Intermediate myself, in
fact in places it’s crying out for a bit more syncopation maybe (Put that’s just me – What do I know
– And it is still cool that said) – Neat diagonal back lock step turn into a quick chase turn/press/run
back sequence.
Off The Ground (Neville & Julie)
Taio Cruz (Higher)
64/2 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 8
Neat funky/pop track & a flowing dance to fit – Nice testing turn sequence that reminds me of
Shaz’s 2012 (It’s that style of dance/track generally) – It’s got the Ain’t Got No Money
Dip/Shoulder Pop sequence, which is cool – But not so cool if you are fat & 50 (Ok 52 !! ) – The
young ones did that justice but the rest of us just did hip bumps ............... Cool easy but effective
walk-around turn at the end .......... Cuz I Said So more popular though – See later .........
Consider Me Gone (Shaz Walton & Dave Morgan)
Reba (Consider Me Gone)
48/2 Higher Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
A great mix of a classic country cha cha & a classy dance with something different about it – A mix
you don’t get so often – I’m just hoping the level does not put the country fans off (Because it’s not
that hard) & the country does not put the more progressive fans off (Because it is a lovely smooth
track) – Class & I really enjoyed it – As they did at Morpeth, even though there it was an 11pm
teach on New Years Day (They only finished it that afternoon) !!!  I particularly like the
twist/spiral & the wizzard/turn sequences – A bonus is it phrases to just 48 counts – And is only 2
walls !! 
Messy Little Raindrops (Craig Bennett)
Cheryl Cole (The Flood)
32/4 Intermediate
Music 8 Dance 8
A nice easy smooth nightclub – Flows really nice to the track – A dance for an easy chill to enjoy
the track.
Go Jaded (Michele Perron & Frank Trace)
Chromeo (I’m Not Contagiou)
32/4 Improver/Easy-Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
Cool funky/pop track with a great dance beat – The Improvers loved this one – We do lots of classic
& more traditional type Beginner/Improvers but now & then a funky one goes well too – Last time
it was Frank’s Cooler Than Me – Like the modified Jazz/turn beginning – And a testing ½
Monterey too to finish – Not just a cool dance but a great tester for the Improvers.
Dy-No-Mite (Bracken Ellis Potter & Ruben Luna)
Taio Cruz (Dynamite)
32/4 Intermediate
Music 10 Dance 9
Lots of the funky late-birds wanted a dance to this great track – I picked this one – Not too hard but
cool moves – Enjoy the track & add your own styling – I’d liken it to A Walk On The Wild Side
most recently – Chugs/Slides/Sits/Pops – Love it – It’s all in the styling lol !!!  ........... And don’t
forget to “put your hands in air” when you’ve got it in the bag !!! 
Dirty Bit (Shaz Walton)
Black Eyed Peas (The Time)
64/4 Intermediate
Music 10 Dance 10
Folk love this track – A funky version of the Dirty Dancing classic – And Shaz has done a great job
hitting the beat – And for this one keeping it a mainstream dance for all, much like say Hypnotised
was – Not easy – Solid intermediate – A big hit release at our Morpeth weekend – And the hit teach
for sure on our first week back – Cool Monterey/Kick-Ball opening sequence, a nice cha sequence
which is repeated – Likewise a neat sweep/turn/rock move – Big hit gong really well for Shaz this
one & my own ‘Dance Of The Month’ 
The Way You Lie (Frank Cooper)
Eminem (I Love The Way You Lie)
32/2 Intermediate
Music 10 Dance 9
A bit like Dy-No-Mite in that it’s a neat easy dance to a great funky track – This one a funky
nightclub – Nothing too hard at all, positively easy compared to most funky stuff but an awesome
dance/track combination – Just chill & enjoy – It makes me think of Paul’s Wonderful the way that
switches between smooth & funky – This one smooth Rhianna & funky Eminem – Not new but
cool the way the restarts make it one of those 2 x 2 wall dance – Another big hit teach – Thanks to
Diddy Dave for teaching us this one at Morpeth at New Year.
Busy (Jo & John Kinser)
Olly Murs (Busy)
48/2 Easy Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
A really nice two step that flows along well to a catchy pop track – Cool mix of steps including
Charleston, Coaster, Switches, Rumba Box, Chasse, Jazz, Mambo, Struts, Touch Turns – A bit of
everything come to think of it – Neat 
Burlesque
Cher (Welcome To Burlesque)
64/4 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
Something ‘different’ – A really cool Tango dance – Quite easy – Just need to work on the timing
for the ‘big finish’ !!  Just love the opening basic tango move & the feel of the turning ‘Ochos’ as
they are called into a double Rock Step – Great feel good dancing  ..... For the big finish just step
on your left next to right facing right diagonal & raise your arms ‘da-daa’ to hit the symbols at the
end of the track.
Poison (Craig Bennett)
Nicole Scherzinger (Poison)
32/4 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
Another cool pop dance from Craig – Nippy pace & turny – In the style of Box It Up – 32 counts
plus an easy 16 count tag which you do 4 times – Easy phrasing – A touch on the funky side 
Cha Cha When (Scott Blevins)
Fergie (Quando Quando Quando)
32/4 Intermediate/Advanced
Music 8 Dance 9
Another classy dance from Scott in the style of something like Ch Cha Tonight – I was moaning
about the freestyle tags, but when you get used to the track you do just feel your own thing easy
enough – The music just lends itself to some hips or body rolls rather than any ‘steps’, although for
the experts Scott’s double (Or was it triple !! ) spins looked awesome – That aside a really cool &
smooth cha cha that feels the beat 
Bittersweet Memory (Ria Vos)
David Nail (Clouds)
32/4 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 9
A lovely mainstream nightclub to an equally cool country track – Nice run back sequence & cool
reverse-turn/roll-turn ending – Another on the up much requested popular one at the Awards in
Blackpool.
We Belong (Robbie M. Hickie)
Seal (Secrets)
48/4 Intermediate
Music 8 Dance 9
Missed this one at first not being a big waltz fan – Was not keen on the track either – But at our
Bristol event the floor was full & the music was cool nice & loud !!! Decided to play catch-up & the
class loved it – A nice mix of classic & new moves too – Particularly like the step/brush into the
Sailor ½ & cross/rock steps – And the ½ diamond set-up for the vine/twinke turn finish – Really
nice waltz.
Only Girl (Niels Poulson & Simon Ward)
Rihanna (Only Girl)
64/2 Intermediate
Music 10 Dance 10
My own favourite our of the Awards & Stoke the weekend before that – A great intermediate pop
cha packed with cool moves – In the You’re Amazing sort of modern/pop/funky cha league – A
huge hit with the class this one – The whole thing just flows so well with the track – Lots of
different moves but nothing over complicated – It was a hard choice to big between this one &
Dirty Bit for my own Dance Of The Month 
Cuz I Said So (Neville & Julie)
NeYo (Cause I Said So)
64/2 Intermediate
Music 10 Dance 10
I did Off the Ground before the snow which went well, but in Bristol I picked up on how popular
this one was & decided to do it too – Class loved it – Classic Neville & Julie I guess you’d say –
Really cool Mambo/Pop/Stomp/Hitch/Coaster opening sequence – A neat Touch sequence that hits
the song too – And you can’t beat a Shorty George either can you 
Let It Be (Rachael McEnaney)
Katie Stevens (Let It Be)
32/2 Advanced
Music 8 Dance 8
Hit teach from Rachael in a full Advanced room at the Awards – Some saying they are not keen on
this ‘American Idols’ version of the song but it’s another lovely smooth nightclub, in the Don’t
Miss A Thing league – Cool syncopated rock turns at the beginning & a nice turning weave into the
ending – Late-bird class loved it, as they did Don’t Miss A Thing.
What Happens On The Dance Floor (Craig Bennett)
Alexandra Burke (What Happens On The Dance Floor)
32/4 Intermediate
Music 9 Dance 8
A popular teach at the Awards, much requested afterwards in social dancing – A nice easy 32 count
one that flows well to a great track – Easy-Intermediate I’d say – Cool back Monterey/Jazz
sequence into a nice turn/reverse-turn ending.
Calypso Mexico (Ria Vos)
Bouke (Calypso Mexico)
64/4 Improver
Music 8 Dance 8
A really catchy two-step classic Elvis track by Bouke – Feel good Improver/Easy-Intermediate
dancing that was really well received – Loads dancing this in social dancing at the Awards which
inspired me to give it a go – Thought the track was a bit cheesy at first but it grows on you !! 
Lots of classic two step moves – Love the Back-Rock/Kick-Ball-Cross & Back-Kick sequences & a
cool Hips/Hitch/Coaster finish too.
