When Carl formed Six Sigma Solutions LLC in May 2006, he brought with him an attention to
detail and a passion for customer focus that differentiated the firm in a powerful and practical way.
Turnaround projects require practitioners to be able to make difficult choices and execute complex
solutions yet perform with decisiveness, tactfulness and compassion.
With a career spanning over 25 years, Carl has significant experience negotiating and winning
commercial and government defense contracts; to deliver sophisticated, high-tech solutions in an
efficient, business like and cost effective way.
For the last three years, Carl has worked on turnaround projects; he helped distressed companies
in pre and post bankruptcy stages to elevate their operational and financial performance using
Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies. Carl is an expert at aligning performance goals in
functions such as engineering, design, procurement, manufacturing and production with corporate
EBITDA improvement objectives. In 2005 he initiated $4.7 million in bottom line savings for
Citation Corporation. Recently he slashed the supplier base by over 40% for Thomas Equipment
in Canada and initiated over $3 million in cost savings for Wholesome & Hearty Foods in Utah.
As Vice President for MTSI in Huntsville, AL he grew the firm’s revenues from $1 million to $6.6
million in four years by successfully completing programs for Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, GM and
the International Space Station. He also implemented Lean Manufacturing projects for Vought
Aircraft to efficiently deliver programs for Airbus and Gulfstream.
At Pratt and Whitney, he was the Lead Senior Manufacturing Engineer in the Advanced Systems
Division where he worked on the Advanced Cruise Missile and the Tomahawk Cruise Missile. At
SUMMA Technology, he developed a manufacturing business with over 25 customers worth $150
million.
Carl earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Business from Athens State College,
Alabama. He is a certified Lean Master and a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt both from
Villanova University, PA.
Carl is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, Tennessee Chapter and a member
of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
