SPR 2011 SOM 301 Team Progress Report
In SOM courses as in the workplace, you will be teamed with people to solve problems and report on your
findings both in writing and in presentations. In SOM 301, you will complete the following assignment to help
report all progress made on the course project to date. The assignment requires students to meet as a team (at
least once) in order to complete. The focus of the assignment is for teams to report the guidelines, roles and
responsibilities, progress and next steps as they relate to the semester project. The students will discuss the
guidelines, roles and responsibilities, progress, next steps, etc. using course terms and concepts. The
information sheet must be submitted to Blackboard no later than one hour after the end time of the scheduled
class. Only ONE document per team must be completed but each member of the team must submit the
document individually to Blackboard. The assignment will count for up to 25 points possible.
INSTRUCTIONS:
 Everyone on the team should agree to a specific time and place to meet face-to-face and set appropriate
schedules for deliverables.
 At the initial team meeting, everyone should discuss their strengths and weaknesses in order to develop a
sense of teamwork. Draw on each other’s strengths in order to improve weaknesses.
 At your meetings, you should be on time and be prepared to discuss the team assignment.
 At your team meeting, you should stay focused to save time and have a good learning experience.
 At your meetings, you should make decisions as a team.
 A team leader may develop within your group. This does not mean that the leader should be the member
who does all the work. The leader is the one who may keep the group focused and on task and generally
keep communication going between group members.
