Propagation of the Faith: The collection for the Propagation of the Faith will take place at
all Masses on the 20th and 21st October 2012. There are many different countries where
the work of Catholics needs to be supported and where the local community cannot yet
provide for the needs of the local Church. Ireland has always had a very significant role to
play in promoting and supporting the spread of the Good News.

way, both now and in the future.

Year of Faith
Pope Benedict has declared a Year of Faith which will run from 11th October 2012 until
the end of the liturgical year 2013 (24th November 2013, Feast of Christ the King).
The first day of the Year of Faith is the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second
Vatican Council (Vatican II) and also the twentieth anniversary of the Catechism of the
Catholic Church.
How could I take part in the Year of Faith?
Think about what would help you to deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ:

Read one of the Gospels and get to know Him more;

Look at how you live our your faith in Jesus Christ;

Take a little time to pray daily;

Avail of opportunities to learn more about what it means to be a Christian.
