All coursework in bold would articulate to Semester credit hours (SCH) at ACC. Other AP, DC or Co enrollment courses may be taken for additional SCH at ACC.
**Under this plan, students would be able to acquire at least 29 SCH at Austin Community College.
*** Speech, Keyboarding, Health, Algebra and Foreign Language can be taken in Middle School earning 3.5 High School credits.
****TASP or T-Comp must be taken prior to enrolling in any Dual Credit or Co enrollment course.
The Distinguished Achievement Program (74.44) has the following additional requirements:
* Must be three levels of the same language other than English (3 credits)
In order to obtain the DAP, a minimum of four (4) of the following measures must be achieved:
Original Research Project:
1. Judged by a panel of professionals in the field that is the focus of the project; or
2. Conducted under the direction of mentor(s) and reported to an appropriate audience; and
3. Related to the required curriculum set forth in 19 TAC 74.1.
4. May not be used for more than two of the four advanced measures.
Test Data:
1. A score of three or above on the College Board Placement examination;
2. A score of four or above on International Baccalaureate examination;
3. A score on the Preliminary Scholastic Test (PSAT) that qualifies a student for recognition as a Commended Scholar or higher by the National Merit
Scholarship Corporation; as part of the National Hispanic Scholar Program of the College Board; or as a part of the National Achievement
Scholarship Program for Outstanding Negro Students of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The PSAT score may count as only one
advanced measure regardless of the numbers of honors received by the student.
College Courses:
1. A grade of 3.0 or higher on courses that count for college credit, including Tech Prep programs.
Standards for Approval of Requirements:
1. Advanced measures must focus on demonstrated student performance at the college or professional level.
2. Student performance on advanced measures must be assessed through an external review process.
