COURSE DESCRIPTION: AMS 250 is a hands-on practicum, which exposes the student to the military skills, required for basic technical and tactical competence to enter the Advanced Course. Laboratory, two hours per week and two weekend exercises. Students will attend laboratory, two hours per week and two weekend exercises per semester 2. ATTENDANCE: Attendance is required at all labs. Tardiness or unauthorized absences are not the mark of an officer and will not be tolerated. It is absolutely imperative that a cadre member be notified in advance if a class will be missed. 3. COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, a student should be able to: Understand basic concepts of military Drill & Ceremonies Demonstrate fundamental Troop Leading Procedures Apply basic tactical techniques to simulated combat situations Understand how to correctly utilize a military map and orienteering skills Evaluate a casualty and correctly apply first aid Prepare and issue an Oral Operations Order Analyze any combat situation and determine a plan of action Lead others in various tactical or garrison situations 4. GRADING CRITERIA: a. There are 16 classes to attend. Any classes missed will be subtracted from the total number of classes. That number will then be divided by the total number of classes.
