Hunyo 11 (Sabado): Bilang 13-14 Tingnan ang Kabuuan June 12 (Sunday): Number 15-16 Be Generous June 6 (Monday): Numbers 3-4 There is no “One Man Band” BILANG 13:30 "Hindi tayo dapat mag-aksaya ng panahon. Lusubin na natin sila sapagkat kaya natin silang gapiin." The community is to have the same rules for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the foreigner shall be the same before the LORD: The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the foreigner residing among you [15:15-16]. The Lord said to Moses, “Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. They are to perform the duties for him and for the whole community at the Tent of Meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle [3:5-7]. This chapter talks about supplementary offerings and laws for the nation of Israel: The law concerning the meat-offerings and drinkofferings [1–12] both for Israelites and for strangers [13–16], and a law concerning the heave-offerings of the first of their dough [17– 21]; The law concerning sacrifices for sins of ignorance [22–29]; The punishment of presumptuous sins [30, 31], and an instance given in the Sabbath-breaker [32–36]; A law concerning fringes, for memorandums, upon the borders of their garments [37-41]. The same rules and regulations apply both to the natural born Israelites and the foreigners living with them. There is no partiality under God’s rule. All go through the same standards and receive equal favor. The Lord expects His people to not just obey diligently but also be super generous to God and His temple. This truth is practically applied at SCF by giving us the opportunity to return our tithes faithfully [diligent obedience to God’s tithing command] and to give offerings [generosity to God and His work at SCF]. Giving our tithe and offerings faithfully and generously are like the two wings of an airplane. Our financial travel will be balance, smooth and safe when both wings are working. Shalom Christian Fellowship As we return our tithe and give our offerings, Tokyo, Japan We do so because we love you. Webpage: http://scflink.com E-mail: scf_japan@yahoo.com Thank God for the Levites. God knows that it would be very difficult for Aaron to perform all the jobs and duties in the tabernacle without the help of his sons and all the Levites whom the Lord assigned to help him in all his temple works and duties. I remember when we started SCF, 13 years ago, in this busy but beautiful city of Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Every Sunday – rain or shine, summer or winter, autumn or spring, snowy or windy, stormy or sunny, whatever the condition of the climate was, we as a family worked hard together in establishing the church. The Lord already provided helpers for Pastor JB to assist him in all his jobs. Me, his wife, helped him prepare all the songs and its copies needed every Sunday meeting. I also carry some important things needed for our worship service. Our twin daughters, Faith & Joy, who were then 11 years old, also help carry other things we could not carry. Of course, the heavier things like guitar, projector, amplifier, and others go to Pastor JB. We were not used to walk for 30 minutes or more and to travel 2 hours by train then. So traveling from our house [which happened to be in Takao where we lived for 6 years] to our meeting place was very hard and tiring. Many years had passed and God called many Levites to help us. Thank God for all the Levites – SCF staff, leaders and ministry volunteers! God assigned all of them to help us in doing church as a team. There’s really no “one man band” in God’s Kingdom. Father God, call more Levites to help us do church works and duties until Jesus returns, amen. “When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the LORD’s order and did not set out.” Numbers 9:19 If the Israelites who went out of Egypt were to be described, they’d be described as ‘the complainers’. They were sick of the manna that they ate and they craved for other food. They were not satisfied with what they have. Complaining is a choice. They could’ve chosen to be happy and thankful for the manna that they have. At least they have food to eat. They have something to fill their stomach with. I know in some countries or places, people are starving. They don’t even have some food to eat. I’m sure these people will be very happy to have some manna. Unfortunately, the Israelites here in this story didn’t see the BIG picture. They were in the middle of nowhere in the wilderness, yet they had food (manna) to eat. God provided food for them that they would not starve and die. But instead of being grateful, they complained and asked for other food. At times, when Moses was in the wilderness, God kept the Israelites in one place. He led them by a cloud, and when it stayed still for many days, the children of Israel did not journey” Waiting isn’t always easy, but sometimes God wants us to stay right where He has put us. As the scripture said “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart”.You may feel that you’re stuck and just spinning your wheels in your service for God. But keep your heart open to God’s leading. Then you’ll be ready to shift gears when you hear God say, “Let’s go this way.” God reminds me that there is always a time for everything….a time to rest, a time to wait, a time to trust and time to Pray. Let’s just continue seeking His glory and surely God will lead us to the way that He wants us to be. Oh Lord, thank you for your guidance as journey through life. We believe in your perfect timing for each one of us. I put my trust in You as you lead me. There are times when we too do not see the blessings that God has given us. We are blinded by our ‘WANTS’. But from now on, let us make it a point to always be thankful and grateful for what we have and who we are. Fill your mouths with praises and thanksgiving instead of complaint and grumbling. In that way, we can see God’s goodness to us and enjoy the BEST of LIFE that He’s given us. Lord, thank You so much for Your goodness to me. I am blessed because of You. I love You. Amen.
