Connecticut, Storrs. Studied with Daniel Patrylak and Mary Lou Rylands.

Bachelor of Music degree in education from the University of Iowa, Iowa
City, Iowa. Private study with Robert Whaley, Henry Howie, John Hartman,
Arthur Swift, John Hill. Performed in wind ensemble, symphonic band,
marching band, brass choir, various brass ensembles.

PROFESSIONAL MUSICAL ACHIEVEMENT
PERFORMANCE:
Euphonium:
1996-present: Free-lance euphonium. Performed on Prairie Home Companion. Performed
with Minnesota Orchestra and Symphonia (large tuba-euphonium
ensemble). Soloist for Tubonium (regional tuba-euphonium conference),
International Euphonium Institute, International Tuba-Euphonium
Association Conferences. Special soloist with brass ensembles conducted
by Henry Charles Smith. Solo euphonium demonstration at the North
American Brass Band Association competition in 1998.
1970-1996:
Principal and solo euphonium, U. S. Coast Guard Band. Performed in 42
states, the former Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Broadcasts in 45 states and ten foreign countries.
Recitalist in the United States and Japan.
Clinician and design consultant for Boosey & Hawkes Musical Instruments
(Great Britain, U.S.), Sterling Musical Instruments (Great Britain) and
Custom Music Company (U. S.).
