UNIVERSITY OF RAJASTHAN Syllabus and scheme of Examination PG Diploma in Computer Applications Minimum Qualification : Graduate(Any Subject) with 48% Marks Duration : One Year Theory Examination: Paper 1 : Paper 2 : Paper 3 : Paper 4 : Paper 5 : Practical: Project : Computer Organization & system Software Application Software Programming in C, C++ Object Oriented Programming in Visual Basic and Java Computer Networking, Internet & Web Computer Programming Laboratory Project Each theory paper examination will consist of two parts Part 1 (Duration One Hour) (Max. Marks.30): Consisting of 60 Multiple Choice questions with four choice ad student will have to pick the correct one. (Duration Two Hours) (Max. Marks.70): Consisting of Ten very short answer questions (upto 100 words) (Four Marks each) with no choice and three questions with internal choice (upto 500 words) (Ten Marks each). Part 2 Practical Examination: Workload: Four Hours per week for each Laboratory course. The practical Examination (Max. Marks 200) will be of six hours durations on one day involving two hours for each laboratory course. These shall extensively probe the working knowledge of the specified laboratory courses. Distribution of marks will be 150 marks for lab. Exercises (50 marks for each lab), 20 marks for practical record and 30 marks for the viva-voce examination. Lab 1: Assembling Computers, Windows 98, Unix and Microsoft Office 2000, and SQL. Exercises shall be assigned on the topics covered in theory papers I & II. Programming in C, C++, Visual Basic and Java. Exercises shall be assigned on topics covered in theory papers III & IV. Exercises shall be assigned on topics covered in the Paper V.
