As many of us already know, Warburg is playing to host to the Summer Challenge with prizes and focus on the Rotax classes. At our event, for the first time in the West, we will be focusing on the Briggs classes with the winners of the Junior Class and the Senior class with the largest entry receiving their “Entry paid” for at the ASN Canadian Nationals this summer courtesy of Daniel Di Leo, Mosport Kartways, and Goodwood Karting. Plus, pit space with Ben Cooper of the Jim Russell Karting Academy! A prize package equaling the Rotax classes in Warburg but for BRIGGS LO206! The event is open to all Canadian Drivers holding a license in a recognized in an ASN club. The event will piggy back up on the opening round for the 2015 Sask Series! This is our biggest and most important event this season copying NASCAR Daytona 500 with its first race it’s biggest race of the season! Plus more prizes to be announced soon. Along with the Briggs classes, we will be running the Rotax classes as support classes as they are part of the Sask Series. One weekend, three levels of points will be awarded for club racing, Sask Series and the awards for Briggs. So get ready, The SSKC is starting off the 2015 season with a BIG BANG theory. Briggs Classes: Junior 1: - Ages 8-11 - Briggs LO206 with Green slide restrictor - Esso Regular pump gasoline - Mojo D1 Tires/ front 4.50x 5 x10 / rears 4.50 x 5 x10 - Rain tires may be of any kart “manufacture” same size as above - The use of either a Cadet or full wheel base chassis are excepted - Weight for kart and driver 225lbs Junior National: - Ages 10 -15 as per ASN National class - Gold Restrictor 300lbs - Mojo D1 4.5x5x10 front and 6.0x5x11 rear. Do “not” have to be stamped with “option”. - Full size chassis minimum 1010 wheel base only No cadet Briggs S1: - Ages 15 and up, 340lbs - Mojo D1 4.5x5 x10 front tire/ 6.0x5x11 rear. Do not need to be stamped “option” - Rain tire can be of any kart manufactured rain with same size as above Briggs S2: - Ages 32 and up, plus drivers 16 and older who weigh 190lbs race ready. - 365lbs - Mojo D1 4.5 x5 x10 front and 6.0x5x11 rear. Do not need to be stamped “option” Fuel: for all Briggs classes is ESSO “regular” pump gas. Official station is the Esso on 9th Ave North and Albert Street, beside McDonalds just before you leave the city. Tires: All 4 cycle Briggs classes tire will be the MOJO D1, do not need the “option” written on the tire. Only one (1) set may be used from Saturday qualifying to end of Final on Sunday, except for practice and warm up sessions. ______________________________________________________________________________ Rotax Classes Mini Max: Ages 10- 13 as Per Official Canadian Rotax Challenge rules 2015. Fuel is Esso “Premium” mixed 50:1 with XPS Oil. Tires are the Mojo D1 and do “not” have to be marked with “option” Rear size must be 6.0x5x11.0 Front size is 4.5x5x10. Junior Max: As per Canadian Max Challenge rules D1 tires only and “do not” need to be stamped with “option” 7.10x5x11 rear and 4.5x5x10 front Esso premium pump gas mixed 50:1 with Rotax XPS oil Senior Max/ Masters: As per Canadian Max Challenge rules D2 tires Esso Premium pump gas mixed 50:1 with XPS oil Senior 364lbs. Masters 385lbs Masters drivers may be 16 and up with body and race gear weight of 190lbs plus. DD2 Masters Ages 32 and up As per Max Challenge rules Fuel; Fuel for all Rotax classes is ESSO “premium” pump gas mixed 50:1 with Rotax XPS oil. Official station is the Esso on 9th Ave North and Albert Street, beside McDonalds just before you leave the city. Tires: For all Rotax classes, only 1 set of tires will be allowed for the weekend from Saturday qualifying until Sundays final. Does not include practice or warm up sessions. _________________________________________________________________________________ Practice: Due to our commitment to keeping costs to a minimum for this event and the fact the awards are set up for Briggs classes, there will be NO practicing allowed after our regularly scheduled Tuesday night test and tune. Anyone practicing after Tuesday until official practice starts on Saturday will be allowed to race but will be automatically gridded at the rear of the field for all races including finals no matter where they qualify. This will include anyone entered in the four cycle classes who choose to use their Rotax kart for track time. _______________________________________________________________________________ Schedule Saturday: 10am - 3pm practice per class 3:30 – 5pm qualifying 5 min sessions per class 6pm – 8pm racing Sunday 8:30am warm up 10am Qualifying for Sunday racers 10:30 racing continues The SSKC reserves the right to change the schedule as need be. A final day schedule will be posted by 11 am on Saturday and at 9am on Sunday. ________________________________________________________________________________ Awards: There will be two awards of no charge entry to the 2015 ASN Canadian Nationals in Goodwood in August courtesy of Daniel Di leo, Goodwood and Canadian Tire Mosport Karting. As per our sponsors request, awards will only be awarded if there is a minimum of 12 entries for the Junior National class and for the Senior class with the most entries also exceeding minimum of 12. Awards may not be transferred to another driver under any circumstance. In order to collect the awards, you must show, enter and be on track racing until you are officially out of the event due to not qualifying or for the finals or due to crash. “You must make every attempt to be active at the race”. There is no cash value in exchange for the awards. Awards due not included travel, accommodations or consumables such as tires and fuel for the event. Second entry same driver $105. All Junior 1st entry $105. Second entry same driver $ 84. Sunday only All Senior $78.75 All Junior $57.75 All entry includes 1 10’x10’ pit spot per kart. Please be aware trucks and haulers may be removed and parked outside of paddock. For all trailers over 20’ long you will be required to pit along the start finish paddock no matter if you are a dealer or not. For team pits please contact SSKC executive for instructions and include number of karts and drivers so we can arrange to accommodate you as best we can. In the spirit of the event, there is “no” charge for pit spots Pre registration opens May 4th. Please let us know you are coming so we can assist you in every manner and allow us to prepare a final class time schedule for the event. ____________________________________________________________________________________ - Race Structure Friday; NO track time on Friday. Setup and registration will start Friday evening. Please be aware that the rental program will be in full operation Friday so you may have to move you trailer Saturday. Do not assume you we be in the same spot. Saturday; Saturday will consist of practice starting at 10am and ending in the afternoon. This will be followed by qualifying and racing starting Saturday evening. There will be 4 races of equal length all counting for points, 1 on Saturday evening. Sunday; Will consist of a 5 min early morning warm up starting at 8am followed by qualifying for Sunday entries only. Please note Sunday entries will be gridded behind the 2 day entries. We will start racing right after the Sunday qualifying session(s) We intend to be hustling through to get all classes finalized as quickly as possible. Please be ready and on time for your practice and race heat as we will not be waiting for you. Grid Positions; The first race will be gridded based on Qualifying time. Each race after you will be gridded as per finish of the previous race finish with the exception of those who may be penalized for any reason. Points: We will be using the following points system to determine overall points. In the case of a tie, we will revert back to Qualifying times, fastest time, second fastest and so on until a winner has been decided.
