DRILL NEWSLETTER
Feb Drill: Thur-Sun Feb 7-10 (8 IDTs)
Commanding Officer’s Comments:
Marines,
February drill is in conjunction with our first AT of the year and will take place at the MRX at Ft Sill. Be prepared to deal with
the potential for adverse weather conditions, pack accordingly. The time for AL 13 is quickly coming upon us. For those
Marines that are slated to attend there are multiple classes that are required to be completed prior to the exercise. Those
classes are available at https://www.marinenet.usmc.mil. Go to the course catalog page and look under Annual Training you
will need to complete and print out the certificates for:
USMC Cyber Awareness Training, DOD Information Assurance Awareness, Combating Trafficking in Persons, Joint AntiTerrorism 1, SERE 100. Due to limited computer availability at the HTC these courses need to be completed by each Marine
outside the drill period. You do not need a CAC to log on to MarineNet. If you need help getting access contact the MarineNet
help desk (888) 435-8762 (4DL-USMC).
Semper Fidelis,
Capt Shea
Battery 1stSgt’s Comments:
Marines of the Battery:
“The benefits or today’s technology include connecting and sharing ideas and information with family and friends in ways we
never thought possible just ten years ago.” - Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James F. Amos.
Headquarters Battery has created an official Facebook fan page for the expressed purpose of communicating with our
Marines, as well as their family and friends. Like the page and you’ll receive helpful updates concerning the Battery, the
installation and our Corps. This week’s feature is an insightful Web link published on the Marine Corps’ fitness site that
provides a series of work outs to prepare Marines for the all pull-up PFT ahead. Interested? Find that and more on our page:

The below named personnel are on the AFRICAN LION-13 (AL-13) AT Apr 2013 in Morocco, Africa. Right now
8 Apr is the ALD for ADVON so Marines will report to the HTC NLT 1600 on the 7th Apr. MB AIR ALD is 13th
Apr so they need to be at the HTC NLT 1600 on 12 Apr. The ULN to carrier msg will release in March, which
dictates modifications to STRATLIFT requirements. This drives AT dates (STRATLIFT), i.e. the dates the
planes fly. Some AL-13 attendees will be on an extended AT. AL-13 Attendees will have their AL-13 dates
confirmed at the MRX.
Since Feb Drill weekend is the Mission Rehearsal Exercise (MRX) for AL-13, those SMCR slated for AL-13 will
perform their AL-13 billet during Feb Drill weekend as part of the MRX. Upon arrival at Fort Sill, each Marine
will be told where to go during in-processing at the Joint Reception Center (JRC). The two main places of
assignment are the Joint Operations Center (JOC)/Main or the FTX/Forward (FWD). All orders will be drafted
after the MRX.
