Class Format
 English II is an intensive, college preparatory curriculum, which combines expository writing as
well as a myriad of genres of literature.
 Comprehensive vocabulary (usually ten SAT high frequency words per day). All vocabulary will
be cumulative, meaning that vocabulary covered in the third nine weeks will be reviewed and
tested during the 4th nine weeks, so make sure to keep all of your flash cards!
 Research Paper (we will be doing a college research report during the 3rd and 4th nine weeks).
 Grammar/Editing via SAT/ACT/PSAT type questions.
 Literature-based projects emphasizing literary analysis
 Students must submit all assignments on the due date or one letter grade will be deducted for each
date late. If you are ill or out for a school related activity, please email me to receive the
assignment. It is your responsibility to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
