Job Title: SHIPPING & RECEIVING CLERK EXEMPT Status: NON-EXEMPT Salary Grade: EEO Code: 5A Date: 1/23/15 Supersedes: 2/10/11 OVERALL PURPOSE: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipment schedules with warehouse leads to ensure an effective daily work-flow within warehouse operations including compiling all documents from inbound and outbound shipments to be processed for billing and vendor payments, data entry and other ad-hoc supporting roles related to the inbound and outbound operations. This job is classified as safety sensitive and therefore subject to random drug screening. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Duties: Coordinate schedules for inbound and outbound shipments with warehouse leads Coordinate with Freight Management and/or Carriers for the pick-up of outbound orders when necessary Organize and compile inbound and outbound shipping documents to be utilized as support for billing and vendor payments Prepare all shipping documents including bill of ladings Support other functional areas of warehouse and inventory management including receiving, inspection, returns processing, replenishment, putaway picking and shipping Execute the loading/unloading of shipments from the carriers’ trailers/containers Verify the accuracy of the physical goods received to receiving documents such as bill of ladings Inspect goods to determine if the quality of the product is within company standards and report damages to management for disposition of product Execute warehouse operational activities in accordance with formalized warehouse & distribution management policies and procedures Assist warehouse management in resolving warehouse-related issues such as inventory discrepancies, damaged products, etc. Participate in root cause analyses to identify issues when necessary Provide feed-back to management for process and procedure improvements and assist with the implementation Maintain all putaway & replenishment information to ensure that record-keeping is current and accurate Maintain preventative maintenance and safety programs to ensure effective equipment utilization and safety measures are in place Maintain all warehouse equipment including forklifts, R.F. guns, location racks, computer workstations, etc. Attendance and punctuality are an essential job duty CONTACTS: Internal: departmental management, leads, employees External: Freight Management, and/or Carriers The preceding functions have been provided examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification.
