He was formerly president and is currently a member of the board of trustees of the Manila Science High School Alumni Foundation (where he finished High School). Rayms has had extensive involvement in preserving the sanctity of the ballot in promoting democratic ideals, defending human rights and the peaceful transition of power. As a UP student in the 1980’s he was a campus journalist and an associate editor of “Ang Tagamasid” (official student publication of UP Manila in Padre Faura). As a young professional he was part of the peaceful 1986 EDSA revolution which helped restore democracy in the Philippines. Since 1992, he volunteers for the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and National Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL) as Poll Watcher, Parish Coordinator for Pasay City and the Archdiocese of Manila. He is currently International Affairs Director for PPCRV and member of its Technical Assistance Group to the Commission on Elections. He joined the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) as an International Observer and has been involved in elections monitoring in Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rayms is former Vice President for Marketing & Sales for the Center for Leadership and Change, Inc (or CLCI). Raymond continues to serve as Consultant and facilitator for Franklin Covey programs and a certified instructor for the Interaction Management program of Development Dimensions International.
