Please find, in this booklet, information pertaining to the Jacqui T School of Dance Year 2011. MISSION Our school’s mission is to help students to become more confident, coordinated, appreciate the importance of exercise, make new friends, and enjoy every experience. Our school strives to engage in the overall development of an individual - physically, intellectually and emotionally. OUR AIM is to help students to develop grace, composure and style. It also provides a fun way to exercise and get rid of stress. We, as teachers pride ourselves in being approachable to both students and parents and in helping students of all abilities, including the encouragement of special needs children. OUR SCHOOL has been open for over 16 years and encourages and teaches enthusiasts from the age of 2yrs & above. At the end of each year the school puts on a performance for family and friends, giving students a great sense of achievement for all their hard work and effort throughout the year. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN Wide variety of dance and movement experiences and a variation of dance styles Awareness of self and others Discipline Sense of achievement Positive self concept Good balance and Posture Increase in general fitness Increase in strength and flexibility Understanding of skills Ability to learn a series of movements To perform in front of an audience New Friends and lots of fun And much more CLASS GUIDE Classes consist mainly of modern music. Students do approximately 10-15 minutes of stretch and flexibility which also helps to tone the body and help with balance. Then students take part in corner steps to help with co-ordination and travel across the floor. The remainder of each class is used to work on routines which helps with memory and gives a sense of achievement to students knowing they have left the class learning something. We generally teach according to the majority of preference by the students and parents while still maintaining an all-round base of styles. The classes consist of both experienced and beginner students and each level are catered for in a very relaxed environment. UNSURE YOU CAN MAKE A YEAR COMMITMENT? Most programs are designed on a full year’s attendance; however we are happy to take enrolments at any time if there is a vacancy. Should you wish to leave prior to the end of year performance, please make us aware as soon as possible? If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0425 704 356. If we are unable to take your call, please leave your details and we will get back to you. Remember: Let’s keep this the same great, fun, relaxed school it has always been.
