Title-Blow a Bigger Bubble
Problem: What brands of gum produce the largest bubble
in diameter?
Introduction: Have you ever had a competition with your
friend with blowing the biggest bubble? Lately I’ve become
addicted to gum. I don’t usually blow bubbles but I’m just
curious…what brand makes the biggest bubbles?

Most of my information I got from Wrigley.com which is a
subsidiary of mars incorporated. Wm Wrigley Jr. has been
known for having different types of candy in his company
like gum, lollipops and mints. Wrigley incorporated is one
of the largest food companies in the world.
I also got some Info. From oldtimecandy.com which I
thought was a very cute cite. It was also good for
information. It had the history of double bubble, like when
it was founded and who owned it. In my opinion, it was a
very good source.
Hypothesis: I think that Double Bubble is going to make
the biggest bubbles.
Procedure:
Take 3 people of each gender who think they are good at
blowing bubbles.
Take Extra, Orbit, Juicy Fruit and Double Bubble and have
each person chew the types of gum at different times.
Have each blow 3 bubbles of each brand of bubble gum.
Measure the diameter of each bubble in cm.
Materials:
3 girls
3 boys

Independent Variable: Different brands of gum
Dependent Variable: Length of the bubble
Controlled (Constant) Variable: Equal number of girls
and boys-same environment

Conclusion-My hypothesis was that Double Bubble would
have the largest average diameter. Actually it had the
lowest diameter. Orbit ended up having the largest average
diameter, which is meant for chewing and usually not what
people use to blow bubbles.

Bubble gum was said to be invented in 1906. The first
bubble gum to go on the market was Dubble Bubble. For
more information visit the cite.
Possible causes of error- some people really didn’t try.The different brands of gum were sometimes smaller than
the last so I doubled them to where they were the same
size.-Some people are simply good at blowing bubbles and
some aren’t.
