Summary of MLK’s “Letter from Birmingham”
In this letter MLK is addressing the people. He is letting them know exactly why
he was in Alabama and what he planned to do there. He let the people know his beliefs
and gave them his opinion on how to handle things for the future. One can tell that his
spirit has not been dampened by his arrest; instead he became a more outspoken advocate
for the cause. He came to Alabama to help, not to be a hindrance to anyone. All he
wanted to do was help and be there when they needed him.
