Understand the fundamental knowledge and application of management.
5. Semester and Year offered : Semester 1 and Year 1
6. Credit Value : 3 (2+1)
7. Objectives :
The course will enable students to:
1. Discuss the basic concepts of management as an art and science.
2. Apply the four management concepts and practices i.e. planning, organizing, leading and
controlling in the workplace.
3. To present the real world applications of management concepts and helps to make management
comes alive by bringing managers and students together.
8. Learning outcomes : At the end of this course, student should be able to:
1. Identify the basic function of management.
2. Identify the importance of good management bahaviour towards the success of an organization.
3. Discuss the management issues and make decision on how to solve the problem faced by
managers in the organization.
4. Apply the concept of organizational design, teamwork and planning process.
9. Synopsis
T The subjects discussed tend to explore some significant areas related to management field such as
planning, organizational culture, management strategy and decision making, communication, workforce
diversity, organizational change and development and also teamwork.
