Area of interest
Free online journal published by Education Services Australia as
a service to the Australian and New Zealand school education
communities, on behalf of the ESA Board, comprising
representatives from all Australian Ministers of Education. The
journal takes up issues and trends relating to primary and
secondary education. Core subject areas are curriculum policy,
leadership and management, technology, pedagogy, the
teaching profession, and assessment.
Principal Leadership magazine focuses on school leaders' real
needs, offering them practical, hands-on strategies for improving
their schools in a constantly evolving educational environment.
Our readers expect that AJET articles will centre upon teaching
and learning as facilitated by technologies.
Notes
Might be too focused on the
school sector
Designed to provide an ongoing forum for academic researchers
to exchange information, insights and knowledge on both
theoretical development and empirical research on leadership. It
will publish original, high quality articles that contribute to the
advancement of the field of leadership studies.
The mission of the journal is to expand the boundaries of the
literature and the practice by supporting the exchange of ideas
and insights which further the understanding of education and the
practice of the profession. Its current acceptance rate for
manuscripts is 25%.
Manuscripts should not normally
be longer than 8,000 words in
length
Educational Leadership has a distinctive niche in the world of
education publishing. Our readers are educators from all levels,
preK–12, and from many different disciplines and job positions—
teachers, principals, superintendents, professors of education,
and other leaders in education.
We look for conversational
manuscripts (1,500-2,500
words) that are insightful and
helpful to K–12
educators. Articles should
contain fresh information, be
research-based, and give
practical guidance that readers
can use to improve practice.
Examples from classroom
experience are appreciated.
Whereas other publications are primarily written by journalists or
by researchers, Educational Leadership is primarily written by
practitioners for practitioners. With a circulation of 170,000—and
a high pass-along rate—Educational Leadership has great reach
and influence among educators. About 75 percent of our article
submissions are unsolicited pieces; we solicit about 25 percent of
our articles by special invitation.
