IMMIGRANT FAMILIES ADVOCACY PROJECT (IFAP) Bruce & Aphrodite Garrison Summer/Fall Fellow Application IFAP assists immigrant survivors of domestic violence as they self-petition for legal permanent resident status under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). A student-run organization at the UW School of Law, IFAP unites the efforts of students and pro bono attorneys in cooperation with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP). This collaboration affords law students, including those in their first year, the opportunity to gain training and experience in immigration law, domestic violence advocacy, and client counseling, while providing a valuable public service to clients. 2014 IFAP Summer/Fall Fellow Job Description Student will work with the IFAP Steering Committee, the Faculty Supervisor, and staff at the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) to coordinate IFAP activities and provide general administrative support to the organization. The position will correspond to Summer and Autumn Quarters 2014.
