Science 6 Cell City Web Quest Guidelines

1. Read all of these directions carefully.
2. This document CELL CITY ANALOGY WEB QUEST GUIDELINES, and the work sheet that was
handed out in class - CELL CITY ANALOGY WEB QUEST WORKSHEET can also be found on the
Science 6 Class webpage with the Chapter 3 material.
3. For each of the 6 organelles (cell structures) listed on the CELL CITY ANALOGY WORKSHEET,
complete the middle column with the part of the city that the website makes an analogy to. In the last
column, write down the function that the organelle is responsible for in the cell, and why the analogy
makes sense.
4. For each of the 16 questions listed on the worksheet, answer each question in full, complete, sentences.
5. Once you have completed steps 3 and 4, see that last page of the worksheet and think about and write
your conclusions. If you need more space you can attach a piece of loose leaf to your worksheet. You
may also use technology and download the worksheet and type out your answers.
6. You will gather information to complete your CELL CITY ANALOGY WORKSHEET from the
following cell city website: http://www.biopic.co.uk/cellcity/index.htm
7. When you are in the Cell City Website, click on FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND. Hop on the Tour
Bus and have Fun!
8. Hand in your completed CELL CITY ANALOGY WORKSHEET by FRIDAY, JANUARY 16, 2015.
Each day your assignment is late two points will be deducted from your grade.
9. This Web Quest will be graded and will count as a test grade for trimester 2.
10. Take time to go through the website, reading for comprehension and knowledge, and not just to get your
HW completed in the quickest time possible.
11. If you have any questions, bring them to class before your assignment is due.
12. Before handing in your assignment, review to ensure that your answers are clear, legible and in
complete, coherent sentences.
