Dear Parents/Guardians: Here are some interesting and/or important reminders for the upcoming weeks: Your Child’s Progress We are about a third of the way through the 4th marking period, and the end of the school year is quickly approaching. If you have not been taking advantage of viewing the on-line parent portal and checking your child’s progress, please use this as a reminder to do so. If you have any concerns, please contact your child's teacher and/or guidance counselor. Final report cards are coming soon! New Jersey Biology Competency Test: Cinnaminson High School will administer the state mandated New Jersey Biology Competency Test (NJBCT) to all students currently taking a first time high school Biology course on Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd. The letter with important information regarding the test and the delayed opening and bus schedule for non-testing students is attached. Upcoming concert information: The Cinnaminson High School Music Department proudly presents the Spring Choral Concert Wednesday, May 8th at 7PM in the CHS Auditorium. Performances by the CHS Concert Choir, Bell Choir and Chamber Choir will be presented. Under the direction of Mrs. Stephanie Berger, music spanning the centuries will be presented. The Cinnaminson High School Band will be presenting their Spring Instrumental Music Concert on Thursday, May 23rd at 7PM in the CHS Auditorium. This concert will feature the Saxophone Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, Jazz Band, Chamber Music Groups and the Concert Band. They will be performing music from Bach to Metallica. The District Strings Concert featuring string students from throughout the district will take place in the High School Auditorium at 7PM on Thursday May 30th. With a theme of 'Romance' the music will represent romance from Pirates, Knights, Dashing Cavalry, Fantasy and of course Love. As has become a tradition with Cinnaminson Strings, they will once again feature an original student composition and are very proud to perform the premier of Shannon Bradley's "The Plan.” Students, parents, families, and friends are encouraged to come out and support our students while enjoying the music and these entertaining evenings. Admission is free and all are welcome. Prom and School Closed on May 17th: On Friday, May 17th our juniors and seniors will be attending their anticipated prom at the Franklin Institute. On this day, school is closed for students as it is an In-Service Day for our staff. This is a reminder that in order to be eligible to attend the prom, students must attend school the day prior (May 16th). The CHS Home and School Association is asking that for those of you who will be ordering flowers for the prom to consider using Ziegfield Florists & Gifts. Ten percent (10%) of prom flower orders go directly to the Project Graduation Fund. Attached is a flyer with more information. CHS Pride Day: Friday, May 31st is CHS Pride Day! Students and staff will come together to participate in team building activities while celebrating Pirate Pride. Pirate Pride T-Shirts are on sale in homeroom beginning today. More information regarding these activities will be provided in homeroom and on the website throughout the month. Fall Sports Physicals: Fall 2013 sports physical packets are now available in the main office. Physicals are on June 6th, 10th, 11th and 12th. Please check the packet to find the date that has been assigned to your child’s sport. All paperwork must be filled out and signed before the doctor will see your child. This is the only opportunity for your child to receive a physical for fall sports through the school doctor. Your child will not be able to participate until all of the paperwork is completed and returned. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! Battle of the Bands: The 2013 Battle of the Bands will be held on June 6th in the senior court yard at 5:30PM. Once again, bands will compete to win the title of the best band at CHS. Students and faculty will participate in sharing their musical talents. We look forward to a great turnout and a fun night! Cinnaminson High School is participating in the Bottom Dollar Food Classroom Connections Program. This program is designed to help us earn educational equipment for our school. This equipment will be used by our students to further enhance their education and we need your help. All that you need to do is register your Bottom Dollar card with CHS.
