Description:
1. Pathway

Pathway Simulation for the new students of Y7 and Y10: please refer to the
PowerPoint slides.

Y7: national subjects are given for preparing UAN SMP till Y9

Y12: Preparation UAN SMA for national subjects starts in November to April the
following year (after CIE exams), as applied in other schools (e.g. IPEKA).
International curriculum for 2.5 years and national for 0.5 year.

Y10 (new) in TDuren: has two pathway based on the capability of each students.
This has been informed during the Parents meeting

IGCSE program and A-level program, CIE exam only certain subjects as
required by his/her higher education level (College/University).
A Level program. KG only offers this program for Y10 (new).

CIE offers a choice between IGCSE Core and IGCSE Extended curriculum papers in
most subjects especially for Mathematics. This allows teachers to decide on the most
appropriate level of papers for their students.
o The Core curriculum in each subject is within the ability range of a large
majority of students. It provides a full overview of the subject. The grades are
available from C to G.
o The Extended curriculum, which comprises the Core curriculum and the
Supplement, has been designed for the more academically able and leads
naturally into higher education or professional training. The grades are
available from A* to E.
Our schools always try to drive the students to give IGCSE extended curriculum, but
open for special consideration
2. Syllabus

Every year CIE publish the updated syllabus at the website.
o Subject coordinator should check if there is any difference and inform it the
respected teachers.
o Understanding the Scheme of Assessment (weighting) and it should be related
to the marking for term test.
o Making the Examiner Report for the recent CIE, for better understanding on
the common mistakes then showing to the team and students. Sharing how
to deliver those topics among the teachers and the students will do the related
past paper exercises to improve the score of achievement.

Conducting MGMP (Subjects teacher) meeting, the timetable for teaching until 2nd
period. First meeting is to be held on July 14, 2011. (But KG can not, regarding the
accreditation’s guidance by the government education department), so the first
meeting will be held on Saturday, 16 July on 8 am in Tanjung Duren campus. Make
some suggestions and commitment for the teachers to follow the guidance given.

Be careful to give scores in the school report as there is a case in other school that
the CIE scores did not correspond to the scores issued by the school. Suggested to
apply internal moderation using the standard mark scheme. Two teachers mark the
papers and do the average. It is for the term exam and preparation of IGCSE/A level,
not a daily test.

CIE Practical exercises for Bio/Chem/Phys suggested 2 hours in Term 2 and Term 4.
Need to check the budget for the reagent. (for a better achievement in practical
exam)

Suggested to have blog for teachers containing information of what topics learned on
the daily basis and agenda so the parents could monitor. Need the administrator in
charged and to liaise with ICT. Prosata in Secondary KG for every teacher to have
blog.

All subjects of Arts should have practical exam in term 2 and term 4. Please take into
account the national curriculum. HOA will share the KTSP for SMP and SMA.
Difficulties in TD for not having full contract teachers. Not offering IGCSE Music this
academic year but can prepare for the following year. Ibu Emma will discuss this
with Principals and Ibu Eunike since we need to have standard musical instruments as
required by CIE.
3. Terms Exam

The schedule for exam can be different in TD and KG (for odd term) but we have to
standardize that every even terms, we should have the same papers
o Preparation for Term 1, 2, 3, 4 exams
o Who is the teacher in charged for Y7-12
o Submit to subject coordinator
o Check the materials
4. Books

Check again between syllabus and book. It should be correlated and for updating
5. Teacher Support

All teachers should have the access to the CIE teacher support. If not, please submit
the names to Ibu Emma.
o Sharing knowledge/knowledge management e.g. English has already joined
FCE test. It is easier to classify the capability of the teachers. Share topics
and discussion over the MGMP meeting
o Suggested for Inter teachers could conduct the competency test based on CIE
curriculum not national one that we used to have in the past years. Subject
coordinator to propose the topics and HOA will bring this issue to the
Education division.
6. Invitation Letter




Each invitation letter to the MGMP meeting should be acknowledged by HOA.
Submit the plan for one year
Results of the meeting should be reported to HOA. Then HOA will pass this on to the
Principals, Ibu Eunike and Ibu Elika
Attendance card for each teacher for MGMP meeting
7. English



ESL starts in Y7 for 3 semester (Y7 and mid of Y8) → EFL for 4 semester (mid Y8-mid
Y10) → TOEFL/IELTS (mid Y10-end of Y10) for 2 semester→SAT (Y11) for 2 semester
ESL starts in Y10 New comers for 2 semester → TOEFL/IELTS for 1 semester → SAT
for 1 semester
Brainstorm the idea for building the culture of English environment not only the
responsibility of English Dept
Others
 There is no free time in class
 National sciences should gather and make the summary handout for the students and
the test based on the handout.
 BK should gather and discuss the requirement for higher education and also discuss
about Character Formation Program in Junior and Senior students
 The period for Character Formation will be discussed tomorrow: suggested one hour
each religion and BK
 Official appointment letters for each Subject coordinators will be followed up by HOA.
The previous letters will be checked with Ibu Elika
