The first teacher (on the supervision list) who is supervising the first period is responsible for collecting the examination papers and setting up the room ready for start of the examination. 2. Examination papers can be collected from the Main Administration (Julie Gabb). 3. Students are not permitted to leave until their examination paper time has elapsed. 4. All papers are to begin at the advertised time 9am mornings and 1pm Afternoons. There will be staggered finishing times. 5. All students must be at the examination room 10 minutes before the advertised starting time. 6. NO FOOD permitted in the Examination Room. (Students may have bottled water ONLY). 7. NO MOBILE PHONES and electronic devices are allowed in the examination room except for approved calculators in the relevant examinations. 8. Students are responsible for bringing the correct equipment for each examination. Once the examination has started students will not be allowed to borrow any pens or equipment from other students. All equipment must be in a clear plastic container. 9. All notes and bags are to be left outside the examination room. 10. Please know where you are to be and be there on time. 11. Please ensure a formal and proper examination environment at all times by following these expectations. Supervision should be carried out in a professional manner at all times. A reminder to staff that for effective supervision to take place, you should not engage in reading, marking or other activities while supervising examinations. You should regularly walk around the examination room without spending too long in any given place or without standing over one particular student. Quiet should be maintained in the examination room at all times. Be watchful and alert at all times. 12. If you suspect a student of malpractice. You must be absolutely sure that that student was actually ‘guilty’. If you are not sure then quietly warn the student concerned of what they appear to have been doing wrong. Then if this behaviour happens again you can confidently deal with the situation. If the incident is serious then send the student directly to Student Admin to see Mr Bakon. Record the time and incident on the student’s examination paper. Year 12 HSC Trial Examinations 2011: Supervision Roster Disability Provisions (DP) 1. Merrick Wildash, Kate Grant and Hannah Martin are allowed 5 minutes per half hour to rest – during the rest time they are not allowed to read or write. The rest breaks are extra time without access to the examination or response papers. Extra time to rest allows the student to stretch, move or rest. The student can determine the times at which this extra time to rest is taken and must advise the supervisor whenever they wish to use extra time to rest. The supervisor is to time the amount of extra time spent resting and extend the student's examination time appropriately. The total extra time given must not exceed the overall time allowed, ie. the number of minutes approved per half hour of exam time multiplied by the number of half hour periods in the given examination. If the student wishes to remain at their desk during this extra time to rest, they may elect to be seated at the front or back of the examination room. The student's examination and response papers are to be turned over by the student or supervisor at the beginning of each time the student elects to rest. 2. Sean Purdie is allowed to have a reader and writer. He is also allowed 5 minutes per half hour additional time. 3. Robert Smith is allowed to have a reader. He is also allowed 5 minutes per half hour additional time. 4. Please make sure the students are separated by a large amount of space.
